The Lethbridge Bulls won their fourth straight game after a 9-5 victory over the Energy City Cactus Rats on Friday night at Spitz Stadium.
The Bulls got on the board first in their half of the first inning with two runs.
With two on and nobody out, Carter Claerhout hit a sacrifice fly to the shortstop to score JP Spinosa to open the scoring.
Next up was Jack Kalisky, who reached first base on an error by the second basemen and as a result scored Lee Matsuzaki to give the Bulls a 2-0 lead.
The Bulls added to their lead in the second inning when Jalen Ryan drew a two-out walk and later scored on a Spinosa double to give the Bulls a 3-0 lead.
The Cactus Rats got a run in the top of the third when Timo Aracena hit a two-out double to score Ten Shindo, who led off the inning with a double.
Lethbridge made the score 4-1 in their half of the third inning when Claerhout scored from third while Will Turner hit into a double play.
The Bulls made it 6-1 in the fourth inning when Stevyn Andrachick came through with a two-out single to score Claerhout and Matsuzaki.
The Cactus Rats showed some life in the sixth inning as they scored four runs to cut the Bulls lead down to a single run on an Easton Kitura grand slam.
Lethbridge’s Turner led off the bottom of the seventh inning with a home run to give Lethbridge a 7-5 lead.
Ben Simmons also scored in the seventh on a wild pitch as well as Ryan also scoring on a Claerhout single to give the Bulls a 9-5 lead.
Matsuzaki led the way for the Bulls with three hits and two runs scored.
The Bulls host the Sylvan Lake Gulls tonight at Spitz Stadium and Sunday for the Rural Roots Classic in Oyen.
