Southern Alberta’s first indoor pickleball facility will be hosting a pickleball tournament this weekend with over 140 players registered.
Pickle Point and Lethbridge Pickleball Club (LPC) will be hosting the Pickle Point X LPC-September Sanctioned tournament with two full days of pickleball on Pickle Point’s eight premium indoor courts.
Adriana Mercader, founder of Pickle Point, says this tournament is more than just competition, it’s also a time to showcase how much pickleball has grown in southern Alberta.
“The fact so many players are coming from outside the city shows the impact pickleball can have on bringing people together and highlighting Lethbridge as a hub for sport.”
The tournament begins today with both men’s and women’s doubles and will continue tomorrow with mixed doubles.
Diego Vazquez, general manager of Pickle Point says events such as this tournament not only showcases the facility, but also Lethbridge as a vibrant place for sport and community.
“I want to personally invite everyone to come out and watch-even if you’re not playing, you’ll have a great time experiencing the energy and excitement.”
In addition to the tournament the event will also feature a concession with a licence bar, popshop specials and a community atmosphere for all to enjoy.
