Canadian recognition of Palestinian state greeted with cheers, dismay

OTTAWA — Canada’s formal recognition of a Palestinian state drew applause from longtime advocates of the move and sharp denunciation from voices who said it would not foster a lasting peace.
Prime Minister Mark Carney made the announcement on Palestinian statehood today ahead of a meeting of the United Nations General Assembly.
The National Council of Canadian Muslims declared it a historic day, but added that much more has to be done.
Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East called Canada’s move a “real policy victory” and the result of sustained pressure from civil society.
Jewish advocacy group B’nai Brith Canada said Ottawa had bowed to international pressure by prematurely recognizing a Palestinian state built “entirely on empty promises” from the Palestinian Authority.
The federal Conservatives accused Carney of trying to create a Hamas-controlled state that will reward terrorists for violent acts and oppression of Palestinians.

We now reward terrorism!
The Hamas Charter calls for the annihilation of all Jews! Several times since 1947 the Arabs have been offered a two state solution but have refused, stating they will kill all the jews and take all the land. Iran, who funds Ham, asHezbollah,and the Houtis continues to call for theannihitation of Jews and Israel and Iran is the head of the snake funding all of the terrorists to attack Israel.
Are you not understanding this? A two state solution will not end the violence against Israel, and Israel even gave up Gaza 20 years ago, for peace, but Hamas gained control and turned Gaza into a region for training terrorists to destroy Israel and kill all the Jews.
It will fail to bring peace! They are terrorists and because they have been radicalized, even their own Arab states will not take them in! Should that not be a warning?
October 27, 2023 Democratic Party Congressman Hoyer released a press release on the issue and I submit part of it below:
Hamas’s objective is the slaughter of Jews and the complete destruction of Israel – and to argue otherwise is not only dishonest, it is dangerous and it fuels antisemitism.
“Hamas has slaughtered over 1,400 innocent Israelis and 33 Americans, wounded countless civilians and left destruction, torture, and rape in their wake. I have been deeply disturbed by recent efforts to rationalize Hamas’s heinous crimes. Every day, Hamas churns out misinformation. They inflate casualty numbers and make false accusations to smear Israel’s reputation. We must treat their claims with the same skepticism we would those made by al Qaeda or ISIS.
“We ought to put those myths about Hamas to rest. They are not protectors of Palestinian people. Hamas has subjected Gaza to brutal totalitarian rule for years. They forced this war upon the people they claim to represent with no concern for the people of Gaza, the families of Gaza, the children of Gaza. They cower behind innocent Palestinian civilians, using them as human shields. Hamas hoards fuel, water, and food, while civilians in Gaza suffer. They use the agony they knew this war would create to their advantage. The blood of all those killed in this war, both Palestinians and Israelis, is on Hamas’s hands.
“Hamas does not want peace. Hamas wants the death of Jews and the death of the democratic state of Israel. They are fundamentally opposed to a two-state solution, which I believe is the only way to bring peace to this region.
About 15 years ago I actually believed the answer would be a two state solution, with both having defined borders, but soon realized it would fail!
I watched the issues continue in that region after Israel gave up Gaza for peace and the constant attacks directed not at the military, but any Jewish man, woman, child or baby. Most of the casualties were civilians.
No other country in the world would allow these attacks and show restraint as Israel did! Then came the October 7th attack which showed the true colors of these terrorists who had zero respect for humanity and butchered women, children and babies in the most evil ways, raping children and women in front of the mothers or children before torturing and killing them in front of the women or children, making the mothers or children watch the horrific acts before slaughtering them in a manner worse than animals!
A two state solution will do nothing! The attacks against Israel will continue because the Muslim Brotherhood, Iran and even Qatar want the destruction of the Jewish state and the Jews! The Palestinians in Gaza do not want peace!
Carney cow-wowing to homocidal Hamas. He stated earlier Canada wouldn’t recognize statehood without certain conditions. He already “ forgot” ? No , just another lie.
