A 47-year-old man from Calgary is facing charges in connection with an incident where multiple pedestrians were struck by a vehicle at the VisitLethbridge.com Arena parking lot.Â
On Friday evening at approximately 6:30 p.m., Lethbridge police and EMS responded to numerous 911 calls reporting that a vehicle had struck multiple pedestrians and narrowly missed several more in the parking lot of the VisitLethbridge.com Arena. The driver fled the scene prior to police arrival.
A 77-year-old female, a 77-year-old male and 46-year-old male sustained serious, but non-life threatening injuries and were transported to hospital in stable condition. The same vehicle then struck a Subaru Outback in the area of Mayor Magrath Drive and Scenic Drive South, but did not stop. Police located the vehicle later along Riverbottom Road North near Softball Valley and the driver was arrested without further incident.Â
The subject vehicle is described as a black 2022 Mazda CX5. Police are asking anyone who witnessed any of the incidents to come forward.Â
Anyone with dash cam footageof the incidents is also asked to come forward to police. Anyone with information is asked to contact Lethbridge Police at 403-328-4444, reference file number 25019935.
