MEDICINE HAT — Cruz Pavao’s power-play goal at 2:07 of overtime lifted the visiting Tri-City Americans to a 4-3 Western Hockey League victory over the Medicine Hat Tigers on Sunday at Co-op Place.

Gavin Garland, Charlie Elick and Connor Dale also scored for the Americans (6-7-1-0). Jake Gudelj, Carter Savage and Elick each chipped in with two assists.

Jonas Woo scored twice and added an assist for the Tigers (10-5-2-0), who outshot the visitors 26-24. Markus Ruck also scored for the hosts.

The teams were tied 1-1 after the first period, and the Americans took a 2-1 lead into the third.
