By Canadian Press on November 8, 2025.

NELSON, New Zealand (AP) — New Zealand has won the toss and chosen to bat Sunday in the third Twenty20 international against the West Indies at Saxton overall.

The series between closely-matched teams is level at 1-1 after the West Indies won the first match by seven runs and New Zealand won the second by three runs. Both matches went to the last ball.

The first two matches of the five match series were played at Eden Park in Auckland and the series now moves to the more bucolic setting of Saxton Oval in Nelson at the tip of the South Island.

New Zealand named Mitch Hay in place of Mark Chapman, the match-winner on Thursday with 78 from 28 balls, who is ill. Jimmy Neesham is also back in the team for Zak Foulkes.

The West Indies have named opener Amir Jangoo, Sharfane Rutherford and Shamar Springer in place of Brandon King, Roston Chase and Jayden Seales.
