The Lethbridge Hurricanes improved to 3-2 on their season-high seven-game road trip after edging the Victoria Royals 4-3 on Tuesday night in B.C.’s capital city.
Victoria got the scoring going 50 seconds into the contest when Seth Fryer scored his first of the year from Roan Woodward and Reggie Newman.
Kade Duell replied for the Canes 12 minutes later with his third goal of the season from Grady Pichette and Lukas Lima.
Duell gave the Canes a 2-1 lead 3:28 later from Lima and Will Scott.
Luke Cozens continued his impressive season with his team-high 14th goal and 30th point of the season 16:57 into the second period to increase Lethbridge’s lead to 3-1.
Logan Wormald and Carsen Adair assisted on Cozens goal.
Hudson Kibblewhite scored his eighth of the year 29 seconds later to give Lethbridge a 4-1 lead.
Scott and Owen Berge assisted on the goal.
Victoria made push in the third period with a Newman goal 14 seconds and a goal from Woodward on the powerplay 11:50 into the third but could not find equalizer.
Victoria outshot Lethbridge 32-23 in the game.
The Hurricanes will look to make it two wins a row when they take on the Vancouver Giants tonight at 8 p.m. at the Langley Events Centre.
