MISSISSAUGA — Canada’s Kerri Einarson improved to 4-0 thanks to an 8-2 win over Quebec’s Jolianne Fortin at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts on Monday.
Up 2-1 after a scoreless third end, Einarson scored three in the fourth and another three in the sixth to go up 8-1.
After a single in the eighth end, Fortin conceded the match with two ends remaining.
Manitoba’s Kaitlyn Lawes joined Einarson atop the standings at 4-0 with an 8-2 victory of her own against Nova Scotia’s Taylour Stevens.
Lawes’s rink only surrendered points in the sixth end before Stevens conceded with two ends left.
In other morning draw action, B.C.’s Taylor Reese-Hansen earned an 11-4 win over Yukon’s Bayly Scoffin. Saskatchewan’s Jolene Campbell edged the Northwest Territories’ Nicky Kaufman 6-5.
