There’s ‘not much’ Canada could contribute militarily to Iran war: expert

OTTAWA — A Canadian defence expert says there’s “not much” Canada could do in the Persian Gulf region right now to protect the critical Strait of Hormuz, even if it wanted to.
David Perry, president of the Canadian Global Affairs Institute, says the Canadian Armed Forces does not have many available assets suited to intercepting Iranian missiles and drones and it’s not clear how much the Navy could contribute to mine-sweeping efforts.
U.S. President Donald Trump says it “will be very bad” for the future of NATO if alliance members fail to help secure the strait — a strategic choke point where Iran is using military attacks and threats to hold up global energy shipments.
Prime Minister Mark Carney and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer agreed during a meeting in London today that safe passage must be restored through the strait.
Defence Minister David McGuinty says “all NATO members” are carefully examining Trump’s call for help securing the passage.
But McGuinty says Ottawa is ruling out “engaging offensively” in any capacity in America’s war with Iran, though it remains open to providing “assistance” to Middle Eastern countries which call on Canada for help.

After decades of the Liberals bankrupting our military believing the US would protect us . . . you are correct! Canada could not effectly defend our own soil if attacked! We also have given away a large part of our munitions to Ukraine and have not replaced them yet!
The US said it didn’t want our help anyway! Perhaps the President could have been more successful by mounting a fast co-ordinated attack on Iran before getting the people to rise up . . . and over 60,000 Iranians would still be alive? He waited too long, while the Iranians built up defenses and brought in many of the proxies from other countries. It was reported that Russia had threatened the US not to kill the Russians working in the nuclear weapons facilities as well, so the Russians are helping Iran build nuclear weapons that will be used against Israel and the West!
You never have success hesitating or fighting with one hand tied behind your back!
Stalling has always proven to be one of the tactics by Iran, Hamas and Hezbollah to rebuild and regroup to defend against attacks.
How many of the Iranian leaders are actually in Iran? Did they leave like the Hamas leaders did? . . . Hamas leadership lived in Qatar until Qatar told them to leave and then they moved to Turkey! They are gutless and care nothing for people, only their cause, while they live like kings and their people suffer!
The UN failed the region just like it has failed to world the last 3 decades! They should be fired and the UN disbanded! The failures far surpass the failures of the League of Nations!
Canada will probably cease to exist as Canade within 15 years!

Carney and his WEF and UN buddies are pushing for the One World Government, new world order by 2030(but the US counter globalism efforts have delayed that) and we will all no longer own land or property, there will be no country borders and people will flow freely, there will be one world currency, and one religion that is not Christianity or Muslim or Jewish, etc, and there will be 10 regions governed by the wealthy technocrats will be the main influences on leadership, and so much more for change!
Imagine . . . Canada would see population growth as fast as they could build, with increases exponentially within years . . . the Indigenous treaties would no longer exist, since new world order is a socialist plan and would end those treaties and their land would no longer be theirs . . . but they are being used right now to promote unrest in Canada to divide it, unknowingly . . . if they only realized it!
Canada as we once knew it is gone! The Liberals and the progessives, the cultural Marxists, who have all been pushing their divisive plans into the young minds of students for the last 20 years have all contibuted! They were all part of the plan!
Canada, the once free Canada is gone! We are facing WW III and will not be able to defend ourselves!
