HIGA, Leanne HIGA It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Leanne Higa at the age of 33.
Leanne leaves behind her mother, Michele Higa (Keith); her sister, Erin Higa (Brent); her grandmother, Keiko (Kay) Higa; and her partner, Evan Pigat.
A graduate of the University of Lethbridge with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Leanne dedicated many years to caring for others and supporting youth in Yellowknife and Lethbridge. She most recently worked with the Lethbridge School Division and at Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden.
Leanne was a gifted writer with a love of books and music. She had a gentle way of making people feel seen. Her kindness and compassion left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date for immediate family. The family respectfully requests privacy at this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
BERGEVIN, Leo LEO BERGEVIN 1951 – 2026 Our hearts smile as we remember Leo A Bergevin of Lethbridge who entered peacefully into his next adventure on Thursday March 12, 2026. Leo was born in Edmonton in 1951 and was raised in Legal. He worked as a Mechanic in St Albert, Edmonton before moving to Hinton to raise his family. During this time many weekends were spent at Rodeo’s doing what he loved and being a part of the rodeo family. He then moved to Lethbridge to begin his relationship with Kelly. During the last 16 years of his life, they made their own memories and went on many travels.
Beloved father of Marie (Robert) Lagace of Kamloops, Nicole (Nick) Power grandsons Levi and Owen of Hinton and Rachel (JP) of Hinton and their mother Vicki Bergevin of Rocky Mountain House.
He leaves behind siblings Marcel (Denise) Bergevin, Rita Parent, Alice St Jean. Corrine (Jacques St Martin. Sister-in-law Lucille Bergevin and brother-in-law Raymond Sabourin as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents Lucien and Lucille, infant sisters, daughter Michelle and granddaughter Katelynne, brother Emile and sister Helene.
As per Leo’s request there will be no service.

VAN HIERDEN, Ryan RYAN HENDRIK VAN HIERDEN 1986 – 2026 We are devastated to announce the sudden passing of our dear son and brother, Mr. Ryan Hendrik Van Hierden at the age of 39 years. He was taken from us suddenly in a workplace accident near Rosthern, Saskatchewan on Thursday, March 12, 2026.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2026, at the UNIVERSITY DRIVE ALLIANCE CHURCH.
Interment will follow at the FORT MACLEOD UNION CEMETERY – 3050 9th Avenue, Fort Macleod, Alberta.
