Economic Development Lethbridge (EDL) celebrated their accomplishments over the past year, shared a glimpse of this years projects and welcomed a new Board of Directors at their Annual General Meeting held on Wednesday evening.
Charlene Scheffelmair, outgoing board chair for EDL, says they accomplished a lot in the past year including opening the world’s first Quantum Super Hub, located in Tecconnect.
“It was an honour to be at the helm as Board Chair and President, witnessing our Board of Directors and EDL staff continue to make Lethbridge a bright choice for investment, growth, knowledge, innovation and so much more.”
Ed Limon will take over the role as the new Chair and President of EDL in addition to his role as representative in the technology sector. He says he’s excited to help define how EDL can best serve the community over the next year.
““Leading the Board of Directors in the search for a new CEO, working with the City of Lethbridge on their economic development strategy and setting up some organizational KPI’s are all big things we hope to accomplish this year.”
Other new board members, who were welcomed into their roles at the meeting include:
-Robert Luco, Agriculture sector, taking over for John Ross
Mandy DeCocco-Kolebaba, Community and Social Services sector, taking over for Robin
James
-Jessica Josss, Financial and Professional Services sector-previously vacant
-Gerry Sguin, Multicultural sector-previously vacant
-Allison Purcell, Education sector, taking over for Tricia Doherty
-Bev Thorton, Regional Economic Development Agencies Sector.
