ADRIENNE ALICE BISHOP
September 30, 1923 – November 24, 2014
Adrienne was born in Hillspring, Alberta on September 30, 1923. She passed away peacefully with family at her side on Monday, November 24. Adrienne’s spent the last 5 years living at St. Therese Villa in Lethbridge after the passing of her best friend and husband (Herbert). She is survived by her 7 children: Dawn Bishop (Kirk McIlwaith, deceased), Dyan (Tink) Petterson, Judi (Les) Baker, Lu-Anne (Les) Martenson, Mark (Nola) Bishop, Kori (Mark) Kuryvial and Mischa Prince; 22 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren, as well as a brother Vernon Garner, and a sister Gladys Shipton. Adrienne was best known and loved for her kindness, quick wit and love for family and friends. She enjoyed music, gardening and surrounding herself with beauty. She had a passion for cultivating flowers and friendships. She loved immensely and was loved in return. She made everyone’s day a whole lot brighter! Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 28, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, FAIRMONT CHAPEL, 205 Fairmont Blvd. South, Lethbridge. Friends may meet the family prior to the service from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. Interment in the Temple Hill Cemetery, Raymond.

MARY VIVIAN (GARNER) BAKER, beloved wife of the late Wallace Richards Baker, passed away in Lethbridge on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at the age of 89 years. EVA BLANCHE WATMOUGH
1928 ~ 2014
Mrs. Eva Blanche Watmough (Usciski) of Lethbridge passed away peacefully on November 22, 2014 at the age of 86 years. Eva was born July 16, 1928 in a farm house not far from where she would grow up, outside of Rocky Mountain House. She was the youngest of 5 children of William and Verda Payne. Eva went to a one-room school house until she was 16. After her mother¹s, passing she went to work in Rocky Mountain House where she met Stan Usciski and married in 1946. They moved to Barrhead where they had 3 children. They then moved to Edmonton for 3 years, and on to the Crowsnest Pass. Once the children had left home, Eva and Stan moved around eventually settling in Lundbreck where Eva joined the Livingstone Ladies Club and enjoyed her crafting and socializing. After Stan passed away in 1990, Eva moved around Southern Alberta for a few years, married Albert Watmough, and eventually moving to Lethbridge where he passed. Eva stayed in Lethbridge, living in Legion Arms, Blue Sky Lodge, and then St. Therese Villa. She spent her last few years enjoying the company of her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her heart and her sense of humor. Eva leaves behind to mourn her 2 daughters Shirley (Ray, deceased) Scotton of Cowley, AB, Donna (John) Wick of Lethbridge, AB; her son Doug (Ann) Usciski of Innisfail, AB; grandchildren Tracy Brown, Jason Scotton, Angela Leonard, Lynn Usciski, Jennifer Scott, Benny Usciski, Amanda, Dustin Usciski & Tammy Jack; as well as her brother Bill Payne. Besides her loving husband Eva was predeceased by parents William & Verda as well as siblings Meta Erikson, Alfred Payne, Elda McCarther & Andy Jensen. A Funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, November 28, 2014 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4 Street South, Lethbridge, AB. LAWRENCE RAYMOND KULTGEN
June 19, 1926 – November 15, 2014
Lawrence passed away in Southwood Care Hospice Calgary, Alberta November 15, 2014, at the age of 88 years. Lawrence was born south of Foremost, Alberta and farmed with his father Sebastian (Buster), Uncle Henry & his brother Joe Kultgen. He married Barbara Tschritter Oct 3, 1948 they farmed 12 miles south and 1 mile east of Foremost, Alberta and raised six children: Sharon, Myron, Rodney, Gerald, Corrine and Rita there. In 1967 they sold the farm and moved numerous times before retiring in the Drumheller area. Lawrence spent his last years in Sunshine and Hillview Lodge in Drumheller and really enjoyed his years there. Lawrence is survived by his six children, 20 grand children, 33 great grand children, and six great great grand children, two sister-in-laws and one brother-in-law. Lawrence was predeceased by his wife Barb July 11, 2011, two grandsons, one great grandson, one daughter-in-law, one brother and two sisters. There will be a graveside service for Lawrence & Barbara Kultgen in Lethbridge for family and close friends.

MATKIN
HEBER LAMONT MATKIN, beloved husband of Rhea Card Matkin, peacefully passed from his lifetime of service on November 17, 2014 in his home at Lethbridge at age 93. Lamont was born in Cardston on December 20, 1920 to Heber J and Loreen Matkin. He served a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ontario before joining the RCAF. During that time he married his eternal sweetheart Rhea Card in the Cardston Alberta temple. He made many lifelong friends in the community through his work as a dentist and in his many leadership positions in the Church. Dad was a doer who loved to serve others and who had a deep love and commitment to his family and his Church. He filled his life with faith and Christ-like service, and in his quiet and humble way went about doing good. Lamont was a lover of nature and enjoyed the mountains. As a young man he developed a beautiful singing voice. Above all, Lamont¹s kindness and wise counsel will be remembered by many. He was a gifted teacher and leader, known for his integrity, dependability, his love for people, as well as his pleasant personality and quick wit. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 70 years, Rhea Matkin and his six daughters: Gayle (Boyd) Whitesides, Carol (Warren) Roundy, Mary (Robert) Bissett, Eva Matkin, Donna Wood, Maren (Devin) Cahoon; 28 grandchildren; 65 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Lamont especially had an unconditional love for his posterity. He is survived by his sisters, Eva Thompson and Ruth Anderson, and sister-in-law Clara Matkin Spackman. The family would like to express their sincere thanks for those who have served and cared for our father and family during this time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Humanitarian or Perpetual Education fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, LETHBRIDGE STAKE CENTRE, 2410-28 Street South, Lethbridge, with President Jesse Wilde officiating. MAY (MISAO) SARUWATARI (NEE NISHIYAMA)
1931 ~ 2014
Mom was born on May 2, 1931 in Sapperton, New Westminster, British Columbia, to Hide and Kohei Nishiyama. As the youngest she was spoiled by her parents, her brothers Jack and Mac Nishiyama and her sisters Betty Tanigami, Fumi Sugimoto and Kaz Sugimoto. Mom moved to Raymond, Alberta after the war where she married her sweetheart and next door neighbor, Sakae Saruwatari, on February 19, 1955. They had 5 children Richard, Philip, Joy, Cary and Gaye. She was the honorary auntie and grandma to many. While in Raymond, Mom enjoyed working at Melchin Motors, local grocery stores and, finally, the Raymond Care Centre. She was also a solid partner to Dad as he farmed and operated his repair business. They retired in 1994 and moved to Lethbridge the following year. In retirement, she was a busy and active grandma, attending countless hockey and soccer games and school functions near and far. Over the years, Mom always enjoyed her regular shopping excursions with her sister Fumi. Mom is survived by Dad; kids Rick (Wendy), Phil (Tammy), Joy (Darcy), Cary (Eileen) and Gaye (Kalvin); Grandchildren Jeff (Katie), Justin (Desiree), Mitchell, Brendon, Meygan, Terra (Neil), Dana (Ellen), Patrick, Candice (David), Matthew, Leah and Jada; Great Grandchildren Weston, Damon, Aria, Talia, Jayden, Mya, Cearra, Emma and coming soon Baby Girl Saruwatari. Unfortunately, after a hard fought battle against cancer, Mom passed away on November 24, 2014. She always kept her shining spirit, beautiful smile and gracious nature throughout. We would like to thank Dr. Shukkoor, Celeste, Lorelei and all of the fantastic staff at the St. Michael¹s Palliative Care Centre for all of their compassion and support during this difficult time. MRS HELENE EDWARDS (HOLM NIELSEN)

Helene Edwards passed away peacefully on November 15, 2014 two days before her 89th birthday. Helene leaves behind two sons, Doug (Debbie) Edwards of Vancouver BC and Gary (Denise) Edwards of Invermere BC. She also leaves behind six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband George Edwards and nine brothers and sisters. Helene¹s parents came from Denmark. She was born in Wayne, AB and raised her family and worked in Raymond, AB. After her husband George passed away she lived the rest of her life in Lethbridge. Helene cherised her time with her beloved sisters and enjoyed her visits to BC to see her boys. Helene was an elegant and graceful woman. She will be missed by all her family and friends. Special thanks to Helene¹s niece Carol Aldoff for all her love and care. Sherry Lynn Jones

It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of our daughter, our sister, our niece and our friend, Sherry Lynn Jones on November 21, 2014 at the age of 53 years. We are, and forever will be, in awe of her great strength, love of life and the courageous battle she fought against cancer. She is survived by her beloved mother, Margaret (John) Stolk of Hillcrest Mines, AB; her sisters, Tina Fujimagari and Lisa (Tim) Jones; her aunts, Joni (Clarence) Bohmer and Sandra Dascoisne; her cousins, Joyce (David) Dewald and family, Chance & Jace Bohmer, Tanya (Cam) Plonka and Eric (Peg) Jones and family in Wales; her extended family as well as the many friends she made throughout her lifetime.

MRS. SHIRLEY E. SMITH, beloved wife of 21 years to Mr. M. Douglas Smith, of Lethbridge, passed away at the St. Michael’s Health Centre – Palliative Care Unit, on Tuesday, November 25th, 2014 at the age of 73 years. Besides her loving husband, she is survived by three children, Juigaidie (Kathy) Cayenne of Lethbridge, Lori Cayenne of Lethbridge and Denver (Sheila) Cayenne of Claresholm; three grandchildren Jeffery, Jordan and Matthew Cayenne. Shirley was predeceased by one brother Raymond and three sisters, Margaret, Kathy and Hillary. A private family service will be held at a later date. He enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, boating, travelling, gardening, building things and had a sense of humour. Ray loved to cook and tease people. His greatest joy was his family who will miss him dearly.
