It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our sister, aunt and friend. She passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge, AB at the age of 95 years. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4th Street South, Lethbridge. BARRY LINKLATER
Passed away peacefully on the morning of November 24th at the age of 74, with his family at his side. Barry will be missed dearly by his wife Wilma of 51 years and his children Dana, Scott, and Craig. Barry was born in Selkirk, Manitoba on August 1, 1940 to his parents Orton and Audrey Linklater, and was raised on the family farm along with his brothers Dennis and Lyle. After marrying the love of his life Wilma, they moved to California where he completed his Psychiatric Nursing Degree. Barry then moved his family back to Selkirk to become a Journeyman Electrician. Soon after, an opportunity arose to move his family to the beautiful place of Waterton Park, Alberta. Barry being a man of many talents with the assistance of his family built his amazing home on his acreage in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Barry and Wilma also built their second home in Arizona where they spent many winters enjoying their retirement. His love of the great outdoors was endless and whether he was bow hunting, fishing, hiking or horseback riding he made many amazing friends along the way. Barry was well known for dancing the Linklater shuffle at all the social gatherings and always wore a very contagious smile. All those who were fortunate enough to be touched by Barry¹s endless energy and humor will never forget this incredible husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. No services will be held but a Celebration of Life will be held in the spring of 2015. Memorial Donations may be made in Barry¹s memory to the Good Samaritans Vista Village – Pincher Creek, P.O. CARUSO
THOMAS CARUSO passed away at St. Michael¹s Health Centre, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday November 27th, 2014 at the age of 59 years. Tom is survived by his loving wife and best friend Edna-Marie (Eddie), his children Lisa (Jon) Ruigrok, Andrea, Michael (Denise), Rochelle and Kaitlin Caruso, his two grandsons Cooper Ruigrok and Vincent Caruso, his siblings Phyllis (Bill) Pastoor, Dee (Rick) Hebert, Rick (Carlina) Caruso, Irene (John) Doucette, Danny Caruso, David (Joanne) Caruso, and Connie (Jeff) Shewchuk, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Tom was pre-deceased by his parents Joe and Mary Caruso. Tom was born at his parent¹s home in Iron Springs. He was the fourth son in a large Italian family that grew to include nine children. While the family did not have a lot of money, Tom would always say they had a lot of love and a lot of food. Joe and Mary taught Tom the importance of a strong work ethic; from doing the ³blue² jobs at home, to hoeing beets, to working construction projects with his dad, Tom never stopped. Tom was first and always a family man. His love, passion and dedication to his parents, siblings and his wife and children was something that never wavered. He took so much pride in watching his children grow from beautiful babies into dynamic young adults and he never missed a birthday, graduation, or wedding along the way. His favourite thing in the world was to have all of his kids home and have his siblings come over. With some Italian music playing in the back ground, the family would enjoy an endless supply of delicious pasta and red wine while laughing, conversing and solving the issues of the world. In 1987, Tom and his dad Joe bought Noble Concrete in Picture Butte. Tom¹s entrepreneurial spirit, intelligence and passion for his company saw him take Noble Concrete from a small five-truck business to a large operation, doing projects across Alberta and Saskatchewan. In his younger years, Tom was very involved in the community. He proudly served two terms with the University of Lethbridge¹s Board of Governors and he was also involved with the Picture Butte Lions Club, Picture Butte Chamber of Commerce, Lethbridge Construction Association and the Alberta Ready Mixed Concrete Association. As his children¹s schedules became busier, he took on new roles playing coach, chauffeur and resident cheerleader to the various activities his kids took part in.
Tom had an adventurous spirit. He could fly down a ski hill faster than anyone in his family. He loved to play golf, hockey and proudly wore his Noble Concrete jersey with the Picture Butte Old Timers Hockey Team. At 58, he was still ripping up the waves wake-surfing behind the boat. Tom also loved to travel. With Eddie and the kids, they went on many wonderful family trips from Italy to Mexico. They took numerous trips to Australia to visit Eddie¹s family and also enjoyed camping trips to Waterton and Lake Five, Montana with the extended family and close friends. More recently, they spent quality time boating in the summer and skiing in the winter at Flathead Lake, Montana. In Tom¹s last weeks, he told his wife and kids, ³My life has been just perfect. I wouldn¹t change a thing.² While no amount of time with Tom would have ever been enough, he made a huge impact on his family, friends, and community, and will forever be remembered in the hearts of all the lives he touched. In lieu of flowers, Tom has requested that everyone should make a contribution to their own children or grandchildren¹s education fund. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 12th Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. A private family interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

CROWE
1935 ­ 2014
Edward Charles Crowe of Lethbridge passed away peacefully on November 22, 2014, at the age of 79 years. Edward is survived by his loving wife Georgeana, his two brothers Harvey and George, his four children Kyle, Trina, Sherry and Linda, his stepchildren, grandchildren and great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Ed Crowe was born in Qu’Appelle, Saskatchewan and received his education there. A self-taught artist, Ed has enjoyed this pastime since his retirement in 1994. His farm upbringing and 52 years as a Lethbridge resident are reflected in his work, which reflect landscapes and landmarks. His work has been featured at the Galt Gift Shop, the Blackfoot Art Gallery and the Penny Coffee House. His presence will be missed by many. Cremation has taken place. There will be no formal service at Ed¹s request.

EDGARDO SAAVEDRA
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edgardo Saavedra on November 16th, 2014, at the age of 82 years after a long battle with Pakinsons Disease. He is predeceased by his daughter, Alicia Rebeca; his parents and the love of his life, his wife Marina. Edgardo is survived by his daughters, Carolina (John) and Maria (Rick), his grandchildren Alex, Nadia (Eric) and Alicia (Michael) his great-grandson, Anthony and his other family members in Chile. The Funeral Mass will be on December 5th at 11:00 am in St. Basil’s Parish. There will be a celebration of life on December 6th at his home from 3:00 to 7:00 pm

ELIZABETH N. (CARD) ROOD
1926 ~ 2014
Following a rich life, Elizabeth Rood of Lethbridge and Fort Macleod, Alberta, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2014 at the age of 88 years. As her mental clarity faded, Elizabeth was well cared-for at the Extendicare and Legacy Lodge cottages and her family extend most sincere thanks for the care and comfort that was provided by the generous staff. Elizabeth was born and raised in Holbrook, Massachusetts, a small town near Boston, and then earned her first degree at Radcliffe, the women¹s college of Harvard University. She moved to San Francisco to work in architecture and there she met and married Joseph Rood, and family followed. With a move to upstate New York, she extended her studies to earn a Master of Arts – Education at the University of Rochester. The family moved to Lethbridge in 1967 for the commencement of the University of Lethbridge where Elizabeth periodically participated as a student and occasionally an instructor. She worked for two decades as a teacher in Fort Macleod and was the reading specialist for the Willow Creek School Division, working with many children, including youth from the nearby Piikani and Kanai First Nations. A joy and convenience was the home that she designed and was built adjacent to the W.A. Day school, where she taught. Elizabeth is predeceased by her husband, and son Andrew, and survived by her children John and Stewart (Dianne) Rood and Catharine (Felix) Wyss, daughter-in-law Terry Rood, and grandchildren, Neil, Keith, Andrew, Amanda, Joe and Danika. Following her wishes, a private family gathering will follow. Fulton, Evelyn ³Darlene² of Vulcan, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at the Vulcan Community Health Centre, on Sunday, November 23 , 2014 at the age of 74 years. Besides her loving husband Owen, Darlene is survived by her two children – Jason (Christine) Fulton, grandsons Kaiden and Tyler and granddaughter Emery and Deana (Scott) Campbell and grandson Colton, a sister Echo Paton, brother-in-law Vic (Gladys) Fulton, sister-in-law Helen Fulton and numerous nieces and nephews. Darlene was predeceased by her parents Budd and Mildred Crick, a brother Dusty and brother-in-law Wesley Fulton.
