DARLEEN CARROLL passed away at St. Michael’s Health Center Palliative Care Unit, on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at the age of 63.
Darleen is survived by her sisters Barb (Terry) Molnar and Penny (Mike Henningar, son Chris (Kristine)), brothers Gary, (sons Jason & Shane) and Wes (Marianne), (daughter Karla (Travis) Cox), and one great nephew Jaxon.
Darleen was predeceased by her parents Don and Mary Carroll.

HERBERT CLAASSEN, beloved husband of Anneliese for 64 years, passed away peacefully with his son by his side on January 13, 2016 at the age of 89. Beloved father of Brigitte (Bill) Palmer, Helga (Bob) Hobbs, and John (Karri) Claassen, dear Opa to Sharla & Tracy Palmer, Jim (Katrina) Hobbs, Candice (Dusty) Pearson, Curtis & Madison Claassen and 3 great grandchildren. He is survived by sister-in-law Anna Claassen and nieces Ellen Ward and Anne Marie (John) Maegaard and nephew Carl (Denise) Claassen and several relatives in Germany. Herbert was predeceased by his parents Jacob & Clara Claassen, his brothers Hans, Heinz and Kurt and sisters-in-law Irmgard and Lilli. Herbert and Anneliese emigrated from Germany to Coaldale, Alberta in 1952, where he first worked as a farmhand, later then as a carpenter with Phaff Construction Ltd. retiring in 1985. He thoroughly enjoyed his spare time fishing and camping with family and friends and cultivating his roses and garden. He then began his passion of beekeeping during his retirement, producing excellent quality honey for 20 years. At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Mrs. Hendrika Delleman of Lethbridge, beloved wife of Peter, passed away peacefully at St. Michael’s Health Centre on January 14, 2016 at the age of 85 years.
Besides her loving husband of 61 years, Hendrika is survived by her four daughters Clair, Jacqueline, Adrianna, Anna Marie; four sons Thomas, Peter, William, Paul as well as all of their spouses; thirty grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren, as well as extended family in the Netherlands.

Margaret “Sut†Nicholson of Lethbridge, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at the age of 76 years.
Born on February 28, 1939 in Gympie, Queensland, Australia; Margaret grew up in Dalby, Queensland and later attended the University of Queensland in Brisbane where she earned an undergraduate degree in Bio-Chemistry. After graduation, Margaret travelled to Canada with her best friend Majory, and met her husband-to-be, Ted in Edmonton, Alberta. The couple moved to Vancouver in 1968, where they were married and where they welcomed the arrival of their daughter Karen in 1971. During that time, Margaret worked in her field of study at the bio-chemistry lab at UBC. The Nicholsons re-located to Lethbridge, Alberta in 1972.
Margaret’s passions and pastimes include sewing, needlepoint, cross-stitching, quilting, puzzles, and cooking. She was a volunteer for the Heart & Stroke Foundation, and generously gave her time to elderly persons who needed assistance filing their tax returns.
Margaret’s skill in the kitchen, endless creativity, and razor-sharp wit will be dearly missed.
Margaret is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Cam and Jennifer Nicholson of Calgary; her grandson Kai; and her brother and sister-in-law John and Coral Sutton of Tin Can Bay, Queensland, Australia.
She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Ted Nicholson, who passed away on New Years Day in 2013; and her daughter Karen who passed away in 2007.

DALLAS MELAINE (Douglas) HEGGIE, beloved wife of Bruce G. Heggie, passed away in Raymond on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at the age of 68 years.
She is the loving mother of Hunter (Carol) of Lethbridge, and Dusty (Ron) Thomson of Raymond. She leaves behind seven grandchildren. Dallas is also survived by her twin sister Alice (Gary) Allred, sister Kim (Rick) Balazs, and brother Kent (Crystal) Douglas.
Dallas was born to Milo and Barbara Douglas on May 30, 1947. She was raised in Raymond. Dallas worked in the meat department of the Raymond Mercantile, and then at the Raymond Care Centre until her retirement. She was always the life of the party! Everyone in town was sure to walk away with a smile after talking to Dallas. She was “One†of a kind! She lived for July 1 and Christmas and always enjoyed having all of her family around and having a big party. Dallas loved outdoor activities, including gardening, tending to her flowers, and golfing through the years.
A special thank-you to all the nurses, staff, and volunteers at the Raymond Health Centre.
Dallas will be always loved and truly missed.

Roy Allen McMurren
1947 – 2016
The family of ROY ALLAN McMURREN would like his many friends to know that he died on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 following a long and determined struggle with complications from prostate cancer.
He leaves behind his wife and best friend of 46 years, Delores, his proud sons Blair (Juliet) and Gary (Jaime), and his adored grandchildren Gabriel, Sophia, Charlie, Hugo, and Joseph. Also mourning are his loving father Robert, brothers and sisters Mel (Amanda), Janet, Marion, Karen, and John (Lindsay), all their children, and a large extended family that will feel his absence sorely.
He was predeceased by his mother Beatrice and an infant brother Harry. Roy was a gentle giant of a man, well known for his abiding love of the outdoors and sport. He put his mechanical mind and abilities to tremendous work over a long career at College Mercury and then Lethbridge College, where he retired in June 2007 after 27 years in the Mechanics Department. He was a gifted teacher and role model who contributed hugely to his trade and community. His ability to connect with people of every rank and station was simply extraordinary, and spoke to his natural curiosity and compassion for others.
A Celebration of Roy’s life will take place on Saturday, February 6, 2016 from 2 to 4 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion General Stewart Branch #4.

TAYLOR
DAVID JAMES TAYLOR, beloved husband of the late Ida Longbotham Taylor, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at his home south of Magrath on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at the age of 81 years.
He is survived by his three daughters and one son: Edith (Neal) Miller, Karen Bevers, Derrel (Rhonda) Taylor and Shauna (Todd) Jones.
He is also survived by twelve grandchildren: Jaelynn Jones, Kaden Jones, Macey Jones, Russell Taylor, Shane Hillmer, Lyle Hillmer, Michelle Bevers, Darren Bevers, Dustin Miller, Angela Russell, Shane Miller, and Kimberley Kershaw; also by twenty-two great grandchildren and one brother Rulon Taylor of Magrath. He will also be missed by his Taylor and Manser nieces and nephews as well as the Longbotham families. He also had close ties with New Elm Colony, the Kado family & Dr. Liana Harper. He was predeceased by his parents Paul and Ruth Taylor, his sister Leila Manser, and infant brother Richard.
David was born in Raymond on August 8, 1934 at his grandmother’s house. Grew up on the farm in Magrath, where he received all his formal education. Upon graduation he attended Sait College in Calgary and enrolled in an Agriculture Mechanics course. He married Ida Longbotham on August 21, 1954. They were married for 57 years until Ida’s passing in December 2011.
David loved farming and the way of life that came with it. He was known to have the ability to fix almost anything and everything. He enjoyed working with his herd of Herford cattle, from calving in the spring to feeding through the winter months. He served the community by sitting on the Magrath Co-op & Southwest Water Co-op Boards. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many church callings. He will be remembered for being a dedicated home teacher. Family was very important to David. Whether it was family parties or farm work like branding or cattle drives, he cherished this time with his family. David had the knack of making you feel special and will be missed by those who loved and knew him.

Anthony “Tony†Trofanenko
February 26, 1928 – January 12, 2016

With his loving wife always by his side, Tony passed away at his home after a difficult illness. Left to cherish his life and memory are his wife of nearly 45 years Carol, his children Wanda, Ryan (Lori), and Suzanne, and his grandchildren Markus, Audrey, Lynnae, and Anthony.
As well, Tony is survived by his brother Andy (Faye), and his sister Lucy (Tom) and many extended family members.
Aside from his parents, Tony was predeceased by eight siblings and their spouses, two grand nephews, his mother and father-in-law, and four brothers-in-law.
Tony greatly enjoyed all of the beautiful places across Southern Alberta, all its mountains, lakes and heritage sites. He happily shared his love of the outdoors with his wife, children and grandchildren.
A true farmer to his core, Tony will often be fondly remembered by those who loved him as a quiet man working on his land.
At his request, there is no funeral service. A private family gathering has been planned.

With heavy hearts we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of MEL WALDNER. Mel is survived by his father Arnold Waldner of Manitoba, brothers, Joe, Arnold (Mary Ann), Ed (Lesley) of Lethbridge and Harold (Kathryn) and sisters Margie, Kathleen, Susan and their husbands of Manitoba.
He will be greatly missed by his nephew Trent Waldner and his nieces Alyssa, Sage and Sian Waldner of Lethbridge as well as special cousins, Jerry and Sharon

He was predeceased by his loving mother Margaret Waldner.
Mel was well known in the construction industry, working alongside his brothers with their concrete businesses.
