The Lethbridge Elks finished their home tournament off on a winning note and in no-hit fashion.
Finally getting a bit of sunny weather, the Elks took full advantage with a 10-0 win over the Calgary Junior Dinos in the final game of the Mary Oikawa Memorial Tournament Sunday afternoon at Spitz Stadium as Wyatt Tomalty, Nathan Reiter and Kyle Bloor combined for a no-hitter.
The Elks had started the weekend 0-2 following 11-8 and 4-2 losses to the Medicine Hat Monarchs and the East Central Bulls, respectively, before their Saturday games were washed out.
Zach Trempner, Liam Leech and Kyle Bloor led the way in Sunday’s shutout win with two hits each.
The Elks return to American Legion play Wednesday when the Monarchs visit Spitz Stadium at 6 p.m.
