BEATTY
(nee BRAUTIGAM, Helen)
December 12, 1924 – May 22, 2019
HELEN was born and raised in Prelate, Saskatchewan and came from a family of 9 children. Helen and Joe raised their family of 5 children in Vulcan, from 1961 to 1983. She resided in Lethbridge for her last 21 years. She passed away peacefully with her family close by. Her passions included dancing, spending time with her family and camping. She was an active member of Royal Purple, Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary and volunteered for Heart and Stroke, Nord-Bridge Seniors Centre, Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization and several other organizations. Helen is survived by her 5 children: Sandra Pence, Ken (Teresa) Beatty, Linda Beatty, Heather Beatty, Tom (Sue) Beatty and three of her brothers. She had 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Helen loved the color purple, so if you have anything purple to wear to her celebration, please do. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation and/or Royal Canadian Legion Vulcan Branch 21 in her memory. A celebration of life will be held at 1:30 PM on June 1, 2019 at the Royal Canadian Legion, 240 Sinclair Road, Vulcan, AB, Canada

The family of William Angus Conrad announce his passing on Saturday, May 25, 2019, in Lethbridge at the age of 76 years.
A private burial service will be held at the Taber Memorial Garden prior to the funeral service.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the church prior to the funeral service on Monday, June 3, 2019 between 1:00 P.M. and 1:40 P.M.

DOROTHY JANE JANZEN, beloved wife of William Janzen, of Coaldale, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital, on Friday, May 24, 2019 at the age of 69 years.
Besides her loving husband, Dorothy is survived by her son Timothy (Corrine) Janzen and their children Leonard and Gideon of Lethbridge; and son Ken Janzen of Coaldale.
Dorothy was predeceased by her parents John and Erna Dyck.
A Celebration of Life will be held at COALDALE MENNONITE CONFERENCE CHURCH, 2316 – 17 Street, Coaldale, AB, on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Gary Giesbrecht officiating. A Private Family Interment will be held.

JEFFREY OLSON, beloved husband of Deb Olson, passed away at St. Michael’s Health Centre Palliative Care Unit, on Friday, May 24, 2019 at the age of 57 years.

MARTHA OPP (nee Schlaht) of Claresholm, AB, passed away peacefully at the Willow Creek Continuing Care Centre, Claresholm, on May 21, 2019, at the age of 96. Born in Dina, AB and later moved to Mendham, SK. She arrived in Claresholm with her parents in Sept. 1937. She married Bill Opp in 1940, spending most of her life in Claresholm. Martha was married to Bill for 62 years.
Martha is survived by 3 children – Don Opp (Frankie), Sharon Brown, and Terry Opp (Candace), her brother Sam (Ila), Grandchildren – Jim Opp (Pam), Rob Opp (N’vunda Isabel), Darcy Brown (Judy), Tyler Brown (Merissa), Christy Hanson (Chris), Kari Manser (Dave), Leif Hanson (Julie). Martha was blessed with 13 great grandchildren.
Martha was predeceased by her parents Fred and Lydia Schlaht, her husband Bill, an infant daughter Doreen, three sisters (Annie, Frieda, Mary), and 4 brothers (Alfred, Bert, Ted, Edwin).
Martha worked at the Willow Creek Auxiliary Hospital for many years. She was a long time member of Peace Lutheran Church. Family was important to Martha and time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren was precious to her.
Favourite activities were camping, fishing, golfing, playing cards, and bingo. Martha loved music and dancing. She was a very social person and loved to organize family parties and to help others celebrate special occasions. She was an excellent cook and loved to pass on her traditional family favourites to others.
A Memorial Service will be held at Peace Lutheran Church (126 – 43 Ave. West, Claresholm) on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at 2:00 pm. with Pastor Donna Alm officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to STARS Air Ambulance (1441 Aviation Park NE., Calgary, AB, T2E 8M7), or to a charity of your choice.

VAN GAAL
ELISABETH “BETTY” MARIA VAN GAAL, beloved wife of Gerrit van Gaal, passed away at Legacy Lodge, on Friday, May 24, 2019 at the age of 78 years.
She is the loving mother of four daughters: Susan (Barry), Linda, Janice and Wendy (Jason); and six grandchildren, Ryan, Tyler, Jaylene, Nancy, Joshua, and Jaxon. Betty is also survived by her sister Joanne Berlinghof, many brothers and sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents John and Betty deGroot, her first husband John Visser, and her siblings Peter, Nellie, Annie, and Hank.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at ST. BASIL’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 604 – 13 Street North, Lethbridge, AB, on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. with Father Kevin Tumback celebrating.
