He was predeceased by his wife and best friend Betty Bourassa in 2017, a grandson, Travis Henry David Bourassa and brother Maurice.
Henry started work at a young age logging and at the saw mills on the west coast before starting in the grocery business. He worked in Lethbridge with Canada Safeway where he spent twelve years before moving to Taber to open the new Safeway store where he was employed until his retirement.
Henry loved to fish, spending many happy times on the boat with his son and sons-in-law and couldn’t resist giving their lines a tug to make them think they had caught ‘the big one’.
There was nothing Henry couldn’t fix and his family always knew they could call on dad for speedy repairs. He always said he would send us the bill but of course, the bill never came.
Henry loved to spend time in his shop woodworking. He was so talented, all you had to do was have an idea and he could create what you wanted and it was always amazing what he would come up with.
Henry loved a good story, a game of crib and to share a laugh. He would whistle as he went about his day and you always knew he was near even before you saw him.
“When dad passed we know that mom was waiting for him with the motorhome packed and ready to go on their next adventure together.”
He will be sadly missed by us all.
