CAHOON
It is with great sorrow that CAROLINE ANNA CAHOON, daughter of the late Herman & Elsie Aldridge, passed away peacefully at the Cardston Hospital on October 19th, 2019.
A Family Graveside Service will be held starting at Legacy Funeral Home on Friday, October 25th at 10:00 a.m. followed by the interment at the Leavitt Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. In honour of Caroline, there will be a light luncheon and gathering of family and friends at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Leavitt, AB beginning at 12:00 p.m.

DAYLEN LYLE RHYS DAY CHIEF (“Iissiimohkitopi”- Fearless Rider), passed away on October 16, 2019 in Calgary, AB at the age of 16 years. A Family Service will be held at Legacy Funeral Home, Cardston on Wednesday, October 23rd from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. followed by the Wake Service at White Calf Hall, Standoff from 7:00 p.m. continuing all night. Rick Esselink of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Trix, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2019, at the age of 69 years, at the Palliative Care Unit at St. Michaels Health Centre after a courageous battle with cancer. It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, LUCILLE “LOU” LILLIAN MILROY (née Hill) at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at the age of 93 years.
Lou will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters: Barbara (Keith) Deacon of Red Deer, AB and Sandra (Earl-deceased) Osterberg of Lethbridge; grandchildren Garry (Liz) Watson of Salmon Arm, BC, Deanna (Shawn) McClintock of Parkville, BC and Ron Osterberg; great-grandchildren Sydney and Alyssa McClintock and Tyler and Terilyn MacDonald; and great-great-grandchild Aurora Wilson of Calgary. Lou is also survived by her siblings: Ken Hill, Dan Hill, Jim Hill and Esther Valerio and many nieces and nephews.
Lou was born and raised in Lethbridge; the sixth of a family of 13. She was married for 70 years to the late Andrew “Nap” Milroy, our dear dad. From humble beginnings, together they built a better life for themselves and their children. Lou was hardworking and fun-loving. She loved her family and she created many wonderful memories for them to cherish for a lifetime.
With heartfelt gratitude, we thank the EMT’s and ER nurses for providing excellent care and the nursing staff on 4B and Hala Ibrahim for the compassionate care given to our mother and the support shown to our family. We especially want to thank Mom’s medical team: Drs. Andrews, Janzen and Smuts for their exceptional and compassionate care.

TOSHIKO (TOSH) TAKEDA 1923 – 2019
Tosh Takeda (nee Sameshima), beloved wife of the late Muneo (Mun) Takeda, passed away peacefully in Lethbridge on Sunday October 20, 2019 at the age of 96 years. Tosh was born on March 19, 1923 in Kelowna, BC – the eldest of 9 children. Tosh was talented, caring and compassionate. She loved to golf, swim and travel. She found the 13 years as a Girl Guide leader very rewarding but she was proudest of her family. Tosh was a loving mother to her children Hisako (Brian), Richard (Dawn), Donna (John), Jerry -deceased (Laurie), Kenneth (Lila), Jane (Garry), and Susan (Chris) along with 17 adoring grandchildren and 18 great- grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband along with children, Ronald, Constance and Jerry. Those wishing to pay their respects can meet the family on Friday October 25, 2019 from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Christensen Salmon Generations Funeral Home – 703 13 St N, Lethbridge. A Celebration of Tosh’s Life will be held on Saturday October 26, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Buddhist Temple of Southern Alberta – 470 40 St S, Lethbridge. Flowers and koden are gratefully declined. In lieu, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice. A private interment will be held at the Raymond Temple Hill Cemetery.

Theresa Valgardson
1925 – 2019
Sadly, we are sharing the passing of our mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Theresa Mary Valgardson (nee Merkl) in Taber on Monday, October 14, 2019 at the age of 93 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Clearview Lodge, 4730 – 50 Avenue, Taber on Saturday, October 26, 2019 between 2:00 P.M. and 4:00 P.M.

Left to carry on this legacy are her loving children Bob (Arlene) Valgardson of Whitby, Ontario, Larry (Marion) Valgardson of Taber, Pat (Ross) Calverley of Taber, Peter Valgardson (Nola Benson) of Taber and Kathy (Norm) Czibere of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta; daughter-in-law Jennifer Valgardson. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and twenty eight great grandchildren; brother Tony (Irene) Merkle; sisters-in-law Christine Valgardson, Dorothy Valgardson and Arlene (Ed) Flickinger.
She was predeceased by her husband Marvin Valgardson; son Edwin Valgardson; daughter-in-law Patty Valgardson and great grandson Tyler James Valgardson.
Mom was a strong, loving and gentle person who took her life responsibilities of raising a family and influencing an extended family very seriously. She welcomed everyone, our table always included extra’s. Our mom took great comfort in her family and the farm that her and dad worked hard to build. A life well lived, a life well loved.

1932 – 2019
Laura “Pudd” Ann Wesley, passed away peacefully in Calgary on
Friday, October 11, 2019 at the age of 87 years.

Laura is survived by her daughter Sharon Wesley of Calgary and son Terry
Wesley (Donna West) of Lethbridge along with numerous nieces and
nephews.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of sixty four years Harold in
2017; parents Edward “Fats” and Anna Williams; sisters Amelia
“Babe” Wadams, Marjorie Voeller; brother Norm Williams; son-in-law
Joseph Babineau.
Laura was born on June 26, 1932 to Edward and Anna Williams at Floran.
She spent most of her life south of Foremost on the Williams family farm
growing grain, raising cattle and hogs. Laura and Harold eventually
retired to Lethbridge where she resided until the time of her passing.
In the early years, every weekend during the summer the family would go
to Waterton to fish with Harold’s uncles and brothers and ride horses
up into the back country. Years later, they would go to Duck Lake,
Montana to fish. Mom loved to cook, crochet and sew making beautiful
quilts and clothes for us (Blue Jeans and jackets).
