The Celebration of Nancy’s life will be held at the Heritage Inn, 4830 – 46 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at 3:00 P.M. Condolences may be forwarded by visiting our website at http://www.southlandfuneral.com.
Nancy is survived by her husband Ken Setoguchi; three children Karen (Martin) Kaga of Edmonton; Dennis (Darlene) Setoguchi of Taber and children Macrae; Dale (Stacy) Setoguchi of Taber and children Dione (Alex) Allan and Devin (Kelly) Setoguchi (their son Matteo); sister Judy Kawaguchi and sister-in-law Kaye Higa.
She was predeceased by her brother George Higa and brother-in-law Mas Kawaguchi.
Nancy was born in White Rock, British Columbia on September 22, 1931. She relocated to Taber in 1948 where she met the love of her life Ken Setoguchi. They were married on December 4, 1954 and together they raised their three children on their farm north of Taber. Nancy was very involved and a hard worker on the farm. She was a fantastic cook, anyone that had a meal at the Setoguchi home can testify to that. Nancy loved sports, especially curling and golfing, which she excelled at and competed at a high level. She enjoyed watching her grandkids play various sports. Nancy loved watching hockey and was so proud of her grandchildren. Her kind, generous personality will be dearly missed by all her family and friends.
If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers and Koden, memorial tributes in Nancy’s name may be made directly to the Lions Foundation of Canada Guide Dogs, 152 Wilson Street, Oakville, Ontario L6K 0G6 (www.dogguides.com).
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Linden View for the care given to Nancy throughout her time there.
