1928 – 2019
Vernon Albert Beck, beloved husband of Mildred Beck, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 at the age of 91 years.

CJ “Jim” WILLIAMS 1950 – 2019

C.J. “Jim” Williams of Red Deer passed away on December 20, 2019 at the age of 69 years. Jim will be lovingly remembered by his wife Roxine; son Bill; daughter Dallas; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; mother Betty; sister Donna and brother David. Also, to cherish Jim’s memory are numerous extended family members and many friends. A service to honor Jim’s life will be held at the Lutheran Church of The Good Shepherd, 40 – Holmes St., on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. Due to health concerns, flowers are gracefully declined and regretfully will not be able to be present for the service. Thomas Getty

1921 – 2019

Mr. Thomas Getty of Lethbridge, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Mabel Getty, passed away peacefully at St. Therese Villa on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the age of 98 years.

Tom married his wife Mabel in 1945 and they enjoyed 74 happy years together prior to her passing in early 2019. He served as an air force mechanic during the second world war from 1943 to 1945. They farmed in Pelly Saskatchewan for 28 years before moving to Alberta to tackle new adventures. They bought and operated a grocery store with daughter Janet and Tom continued to work on the farm with son Ken. Even after “retirement” it was a rare day that Tom wasn’t helping on the farm. He was able to fix just about anything and continued to be a valuable asset to the farming operation well into his 70’s.

In their spare time Tom and Mabel enjoyed travelling in their motor home and camping with family. Tom and Mabel were also avid curlers in their younger years and enjoyed many bonspiels with family and friends. After retirement they were able to enjoy many trips to the Southern US.

Tom will be deeply missed by his three children, Janet (Bill) Vucurevich, Ken (Linda) Getty, and Shannon (Richard) Kleibrink; grandchildren, Rachel (Jamie) Selk, Jason (Tine) Getty, Julia (Lance) Doyle, Torri Kleibrink and Kyler Kleibrink; 5 great grandchildren, Thomas Andison, Emily Selk, Colten Selk, Makayla Doyle and Kaitlyn Doyle. Tom is also survived by 2 sisters, Shirley Spratt, and Donna Johnson.

A private family Graveside Service will be held at the Mountain View Cemetery, where Tom and Mabel will be laid to rest in the Field of Honour. Together Forever.

Cremation has been entrusted to Martin Brothers Funeral Chapels.

NILSSON

GARTH DELMAN NILSSON passed away December 28, 2019. He is survived by his wife Nellie and children Robert (Michelle) Nilsson, David (Tammy) Nilsson, Mary Ann (Greg) Rolls, James (Margaret) Nilsson, Patty (Scott) Duncan, Joan (Al) Guimond, Judy (Matt) Sundal and 24 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Garth will be forever known for his kindness, generosity and his tender heart. He is also known for his love of curling, farming and most of all his family.

Garth was born and raised in Wrentham, it was there he met the love of his life, Nellie. They married and raised their family on the farm. In later years he retired and moved to Lethbridge.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday January 3, 2020 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, FAIRMONT CHAPEL 205 Fairmont Blvd S, Lethbridge.

SAZALSKI

MR. DAVID SAZALSKI, of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Bev Sazalski, passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital following a long battle, on Monday, December 23, 2019 at the age of 62 years.

He was surrounded by his loving wife, Bev, brother Jim Sazalski and sister-in-law Sabina Sazalski. He had a brave fight for over 18 years, but the last month was too taxing for him. He went on his own terms and is now free from his prison.

Dave is predeceased by his father, Ignac “Chris” Sazalski and mother Patti Edwards.

He is survived by his brother, Jim (Sabina) Sazalski, nephew Jason (Tara) Sazalski, niece, Kim (Scott) Stubbings, great-nieces Kourtney and Ashley Sazalski and Kayla Stubbings as well as by Hunter and Quinn. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Before his accident, Dave was a longtime employee of Atco Gas. Dave had many friends that were with him on this 18 year journey and he wanted to say good-bye and their friendship was very much enjoyed and appreciated.

Special thanks to all the doctors and nurses in ICU. They cared for him like family, making his last days comforting.

A Prayer Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 – 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, on Monday, December 30, 2019 at 7:00 P.M. with Sharon Hagel officiating.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. BASIL’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 604 – 13 Street North, Lethbridge, AB, on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. with Father Kevin Tumback celebrating. Following the Mass, Dave will be laid to rest in Mountain View Cemetery, with a Reception held at St. Basil’s Basement Hall.
