It is with saddened hearts that the family of Audrey Myrtle Bigelow (nee Odland), beloved wife of the late Don Bigelow, announce her passing in Taber on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at the age of 83 years.

MIGUEL ECHEVERRIA

1927 – 2020

With love, sadness, and beautiful memories we announce the passing of our cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather. Miguel “Mike” Echeverria, 92, of Lethbridge, Alberta passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at the Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge.

Miguel survived by his wife Edna and his children Elizabeth Wishart, Evelyn (Tony) Ayivon, Eloise (Brett) Masson, Michelle (Bryan) Ellert and his four grandchildren and three great-grand children. He is also survived by two sisters.

Miguel will forever be known for his kindness, generosity, love of all animals, and tender heart. Everyone who met Miguel always loved his wonderful sense of humor. He always loved to cook and enjoyed time with his family and friends. His culinary skills were amazing.

Miguel was born in the province of Navarra, the Basque country of Spain, on March 15, 1927. In his early days, along with some friends, immigrated to Canada. He began working in a logging camp in British Columbia. Later, he became an entrepreneur in the hotel industry. He married the love of his life, Edna, on July 9, 1976. Soon after they then moved to Lethbridge, Alberta.

Miguel, Dad, Grandpa, Great Grandpa: we love you, we will miss your company, and we will forever keep you in our hearts.

1936 – 2020

I, Darlene, would like to announce the sudden passing of my husband, Ron, on Saturday, January 11, 2020. He was the love of my life and the very best partner this girl could’ve ever had.

Ron’s life was a life well-lived. He was a man that was passionate about many things, and so very proud of his son, Randy. Most of Ron’s working life was as a Pharmacist and Pharmacy Marketing Manager for Calgary Co-op Association. He loved his work—but let’s not forget his golf. Ron was an intrepid traveler and we were so lucky to see many parts of the world together.

He was quick to smile and always whistling. He had a quick wit and loved to tease us all. With Ron around, there weren’t many dull moments.

He is mourned by his wife, Darlene, his buddy, Heidi, his son, Randy, his first wife, Ulla, his sister, Daun, his sister-in-law, Diane (Ruben), his brother-in-law, Dan (Maryanne), his nieces and nephews, Tim, Greg, Angela, and Adam, as well as many cousins.

MARY STUCKEY

February 25, 1931 – January 13, 2020

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Stuckey of Pincher Creek who was called home to God’s Kingdom on January 13, 2020.

Mary was preceded in death by her mother, Emily (Millie), her father, Frank, her husband, Midge, and her son, Evan. She is survived by her daughter, Susan, her grandchildren, Daniel, Meaghan, and Nicole, and her great grandchildren, Kylie, Leah, Troy, Jaxson, and Knox, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mary was born in Taber and spent the first 10 years of her life in Turin. Her family eventually moved east to Pincher Creek. Mary spent the remainder of her years here with her family. After many years of being a homemaker, she decided to buy a local courier company in town. She drove the mail, parcels, people and pets for 27 years between Pincher Creek and Waterton National Park. Over the years, Mary developed many friendships through her work that continued long after retirement. Following the death of her husband in 2006, Mary decided to hang up the keys to her trusty blue van.

Mary had a passion for travel and a zest for life. She travelled to Europe many times with her husband Midge and continued her solo adventures in later years, making lifelong friends along the way. She particularly loved her travels to visit her dear friend, Beate Herrmann, in Switzerland and Germany. Mary sought out adventure and revelled in pushing her nerves as far as she could while travelling 13 times to Mexico with her daughter. During a recent holiday in Puerto Vallarta, Mary was suspended high above the Pacific Ocean, parasailing by herself, all while her daughter watched from the beach in awe. If she wasn’t parasailing she was ziplining through the canopy of the jungle. This is just who Mary was.

We know you are planning your next adventure in heaven while you watch over us. Until we meet again.

Our family would like to express our sincerest gratitude to the nurses and doctors at Pincher Creek Hospital and Vista Village for their compassion and loving care provided to Mary during the final days of her life. A special heartfelt thank you from Susan to all the LPN’s, caregivers and management for their compassion and understanding of maintaining her mother’s dignity and respect during this difficult time.

Please help us celebrate her life on Tuesday January 21, 2020 at Saint Michael’s Church in Pincher Creek at 1:00PM.

April 25, 1930 – January 9, 2020

It is with deep sorrow to announce the passing of Rose Zsombor at Chinook Hospice Calgary on Jan 9, 2020. Rose was predeceased by her loving husband of 53 years, Zoltan Joseph Zsombor.

Rose will be remembered for her beautiful smile (she loved to laugh) and her friendly and welcoming personality. With warmth and hospitality, she treated new acquaintances as old friends, and old friends as family. Having a love for conversation and a caring compassionate soul, Rose touched many hearts and will be missed by those fortunate enough to have known her. Her children will forever remember her unwavering love for her husband, Joe and their family. Rose is survived by her 7 children Rose (Robert) Clemensen, Larry, Andy (Diana), Frank (Kendy), Carol (James) Matthews, Patrick (Deb), Darlene (Peter) Dvorack; her grandchildren Katherine Dascomb, Jasmine and Phoenix Zsombor, Tina Djikstra and Joe Zsombor, Develin and Nicky Matthews, Amanda Beer, Kaitlyn and Ty Dvorack; sisters Margaret Horvath and Juliana Horvath; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
