The Lethbridge Headwater midget 15s Hurricanes and the Lethbridge Val Matteotti bantam AAA Golden Hawks were in mid-week league play Wednesday night.
The Hurricanes blanked the Calgary CNHA Blazers 5-0 in Alberta Minor Midget Hockey League play at the Logan Boulet Arena, but the Golden Hawks were defeated 5-2 by the Medicine Hat SEAC Tigers in Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League play at Nicholas Sheran Arena.
With the win, the Hurricanes improve to 19-3-4 to move one point past the AC Avalanche for second in the South Division.
In the Golden Hawks game, Caden Still and Ty Fraser were the goal scorers. Lethbridge is 7-17-0 with the loss.
The Hurricanes return to action Saturday in Calgary against the CBHA Blackhawks and are at the Logan Boulet Arena Sunday when the Avalanche play a visit at 11:45 a.m.
The Golden Hawks take on Airdrie Xtreme at 8 p.m. at the ATB Centre on Friday and on Sunday the Grande Prairie GPAC Golden Arrow Storm visit Nicholas Sheran Arena at noon.
