The Cardston Cougars earned a road win in Southern Alberta Girls Basketball League play Wednesday night.
Tylor Merrill had 14 points as the Cougars got past the Catholic Central Cougars 55-47 at Catholic Central.
The win moves Cardston to 3-4 and into fifth place in the SAHSBL, while Catholic Central is 1-7.
Lauren Wolsey also had 11 points for Cardston.
For Catholic Central, Aimee Baron led the way with 17 points and Claire Talbot contributed 10.
In the junior varsity game, Carston won 76-70.
Kiara Rabbit had 19 points for Cardston and Camryn Prete added 14 points. Blakley Shaw and Kamryn Nelson scored 13 and 12 points, respectively.
Leading Catholic Central was Avorie Henderson with 17 points and Mackenzie Schindeler with 12.
In Deep South Basketball Conference play Thursday night, the Winston Churchill Griffins defeated the Claresholm Willow Creek Cobras 110-34.
Leading the Griffins was Cayla Stimson with 29 points, followed by Abigail Crown with 21. Isabel Crown added 14 points for Winston Churchill.
Mya Lobreau was the leading Cobra with 13 points.
The Griffins won the junior varsity game 67-45 as Phoenix Clarke hit for 21 points and Dawson Lashley also scored double digits with 14.
Lobreau paced Willow Creek with 19 points.
