The Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation is presenting its annual Care from the Heart Day Radio-a-thon today.
The Care from the Heart Day Radio-a-thon will run from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Chinook Regional Hospital atrium. Six local radio stations will have live broadcasts throughout the day highlighting the impact donors have made at Chinook Regional Hospital.
The goal of this year’s event is to raise $250,000. Since its inception, the Care From the Heart Day Radio-a-thon has raised more than $2 million for the foundation to go towards various projects and needs throughout the hospital.
“Care from the Heart Day offers our community the opportunity to support the Chinook Regional Hospital,” says Jason VandenHoek, executive director of the foundation. “Funds that are donated to the foundation touch almost every area of the Chinook Regional Hospital and impact thousands of patients’ lives every day. We thank you for your ongoing support.”
In the past year, the Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation has distributed more than $1.6 million in support of state-of-the-art health-care equipment, vital programs and special projects. Funds received from this year’s Care From the Heart will further propel and support the renovation and redevelopment of the mental health area at the Chinook Regional Hospital.
Donations can be made online by visiting crhfoudnation.ca, stopping by the Chinook Regional Hospital Atrium, or by calling the CRH Foundation at 403-388-6001. You can also see the day’s progress happen and keep track of the total on Facebook and Twitter, through their user @crh_foundation.
