Big win for Kodiaks women’s basketball

The Lethbridge College Kodiaks court sports were out in full force in Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference play Friday night.

On the basketball court, the Kodiaks men’s and women’s teams both emerged victorious at the Val Matteotti Gymnasium against the Olds Broncos.

As they continue to battle for a post season, the Kodiaks pulled out a crucial 64-63 win over the Sout Division leading Broncos to move to 10-8 and into third in the South Division.

In the men’s game, the Kodiaks ran past the Broncos 128-67 to improve tom 17-1.

The teams are back at the Val Matteotti Gymnasium today. The women’s game is at 1 p.m. and the men follow at 3 p.m.

In volleyball, the Kodiaks women rattled off their third stright win with the 3-0 win over the SAIT Trojans in Calgary that puts them at 7-14.

But the men were swept 3-0 by the Trojans and are now 17-4, tied with the Trojans and Red Deer Rebels for first in the South.

The teams return to the Val Matteotti Gym tonight to round out the weekend. The women’s game starts at 6 p.m. with the men at 8 p.m.
