One of four people arrested following a police raid on two Lethbridge homes last month has resolved her charges, and she’s going to spend some time behind bars.
Ashley Dawn Quilty was sentenced to 30 days in jail after she pleaded guilty Thursday in Lethbridge provincial court to charges of drug possession, failure to appear in court and being unlawfully at large.
Court was told Quilty, 27, was one of several people found in two northside homes during a police raid Feb. 21. Police seized cocaine, methamphetamine, carfentanil, psilocybin, an illegal amount of cannabis, brass knuckles, cash, pepper spray and a conducted energy weapon.
Police arrested eight people but only charged four of them, including Quilty, who was caught with a small amount of carfentanil, and also arrested on an outstanding warrant.
Crown Prosecutor Clayton Giles pointed out Quilty had received an 90-day intermittent sentence last October, but failed to show up for jail on the first weekend she was required to turn herself in.
Her 90-day sentence on weekends was collapsed and she will have to serve the sentence on straight time, to which the 30-day jail term she received Thursday will be added.
The judge gave her credit, however, for 12 days spent in pre-trial custody, which will be subtracted from the collapsed portion of her sentence.
In addition to Quilty, Eldon Myers, 47, of Lethbridge, was also arrested during the police raid. He was charged with six counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking, three counts of knowingly possessing prohibited/restricted weapons, three counts of unauthorized possession of prohibited/restricted weapons and one count each of carrying a concealed weapon and possession of the proceeds of crime.
Myers appeared in court Thursday on these charges and charges from an unrelated police raid in July of last year. His matters were adjourned to March 19.
Mandi Lynn Lumley, 25, and Harold Nelson Wright, 38, both of Lethbridge, were charged with drug possession stemming from the Feb. 21 arrests. Both were previously released from custody and are scheduled to appear in court March 27.
