U of L member in self-isolation

A University of Lethbridge community member is in self-isolation after the university received unconfirmed reports that the member had been in contact with an invidivual who tested positive for COVID-19.
A letter from the university was sent to staff and students on Tuesday.
“A member of our campus community has reported to us that their partner, who recently returned from an international trip, has tested positive for COVID-19.
“The affected individual has not been on campus since returning, however, our community member has.
“This community member informed their supervisor within the University Centre for the Arts, who in turn directed those who had been in close contact with this person.
“As a precautionary measure, the U of L has asked all of these individuals to self-isolate.”
According to the letter, cleaning actions have been implemented on campus to reduce the risk of transmission and specific facilities involving this case have been closed until further notice.
Beginning today, the U of L is encouraging all non-essential employees to work from home if possible.
The university is monitoring the situation and additional updates will be provided when appropriate.
The latest numbers for Alberta have 97 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 23 new cases announced on Tuesday. Of the 97, only one was from the South zone.
