Catholic Central High School in Lethbridge confirmed one person associated with the school has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.

Holy Spirit Catholic School Division confirmed the positive result on Wednesday afternoon, but there was no additional information which could be provided.

The case is now in the hands of Alberta Public Health.

“Public Health has already been in contact with those individuals who they needed to be in contact with, and that is really all we can say at this time.” said Holy Spirit communications co-ordinator Anisha Gatner.

Holy Spirit also did not confirm if it was a student or staff member who was affected.

The Herald was told by Alberta Health Services it could not confirm any positive COVID-19 cases in Lethbridge because it only reports on instances in the entire South Zone and not in individual communities.
