Hurricanes announce refund packages

With the cancellation of their last three Western Hockey League regular-season home games as well as the playoffs due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Lethbridge Hurricanes are offering fans refunds for the lost games.

The cancelled home dates are March 13 against the Edmonton Oil Kings, March 18 against the Swift Current Broncos and March 20 against the Medicine Hat Tigers.

The Canes road games at Edmonton, March 15, and at Medicine Hat, March 21, were also cancelled.

The club asks that ticket holders’ mailing addresses are up to date on their online ticket account at http://www.enmaxcentre.ca.

Refunds for those who paid online will automatically be applied via the original payment method in the next two-to-three weeks.

Those paying with a credit card will automatically receive the refund back to the card the purchase was made with.

For those who paid with debit, cash, or cheque, a cheque will be mailed out to the address on the account the tickets were purchased under.

Vouchers will be honoured in the 2020-21 season. Those who have already exchanged a voucher for a game ticket to any of the last three regular season home games are asked to hold onto the game ticket, bring it to the Enmax Centre Ticket Centre in the 2020-21 season and exchange it for a ticket to a regular season home game in the 2020-21 season.

These games exclude the home opener, Toque and Teddy Toss, and the final regular-season home game.

Those who exchanged a voucher for a ticket to any of the final three regular season home games, the game ticket now becomes the voucher for the 2020-21 season.

Those in possession of a voucher for the 2019-20 regular season are asked to hold onto the voucher in exchange for a 2020-21 regular season home game voucher prior to the start of next season.

Due to the fluid situation of COVID-19, the Hurricanes office and the Enmax Centre Ticket Centre remain closed. The date the new 2020-21 vouchers will be available will be announced at a later date.

The Hurricanes selected a pair of American-born players in the first ever WHL U.S. Prospects Draft Wednesday.

With the 10th overall pick, the Hurricanes selected right-handed defenceman Nathan Tobey from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The 2005-born, five-foot-11, 137-pound blue-liner appeared in nine games with the Dallas Stars Elite 14’s where he scored one goal and three points.

The Canes then took forward Riley Bassen with the 35th overall selection. The product of Frisco, Texas played four league games with Tobey on the Dallas Stars Elite 14’s, scoring once. The 2005-born five-foot-six, 115-pound forward is also the son of former Medicine Hat Tiger and NHLer Bob Bassen.
