LETHBRIDGE HERALD
Despite many changes due to COVID-19, the City of Lethbridge is still offering two community grant opportunities with application deadlines set for April.
Groups looking to access funds from the Community Capital Project Grant (CCPG) have until April 24 to submit their applications. The grant is open to any non-profit organization looking to construct, renovate or retrofit their facility. More information can be found at http://www.lethbridge.ca/ccpg.
In recognizing the value of special events and the contribution they make to the community, the Community Event Support Grant provides funding to organizations hoping to host special events. The grant has four application intakes per year with the next deadline being April 30.
Understanding the uncertainty of mass gatherings in the near future because of COVID-19, the City is committed to working with successful applicants should approved events need to be postponed or cancelled, the City said in a release. With this reassurance, organizations are encouraged to put in applications for summer and fall events as they normally would. For more information visit: http://www.lethbridge.ca/grants.
Anyone with questions about these funding opportunities should contact Lori Harasem, Recreation and Culture Development Manager, at lori.harasem@lethbridge.ca.
Meanwhile, in January the Heart of Our City Committee announced grant funding for 21 events to be held in downtown Lethbridge over the next year. Any recipients of these grants who have questions or concerns about the possible postponement or cancellation of their events should contact Andrew Malcolm at andrew.malcolm@lethbridge.ca.
