Residents asked to consider walking one-way on busy paths where possible

City of Lethbridge release:

In an effort to continue creating an environment that supports safe physical distancing, residents are encouraged to follow one-way directional signage along some of the city’s busiest pathways, including Henderson Lake, Nicholas Sheran Lake and the off-leash dog parks.

Signs with arrows to indicate the direction people should be walking will be added to popular areas around the city. If you cannot plan a route that follows a loop or uses multiple pathways and sidewalks, please maintain a safe 2 metre (6 foot) distance at all times. This may mean stepping off the path to let others pass.

If a path or greenspace is busy, please move to a different area. This is a great opportunity to explore the over 177 km of paved pathways and approximately 57 km of natural or gravel trails around the city. Park users can also learn about the importance of social distancing on signs that have been placed around all parks, playgrounds and pathways.

In an effort to maintain the cleanliness of our community, garbage bins will remain available and lids are propped up to minimize touching the surface.
