University of Lethbridge president and vice-chancellor Mike Mahon will be the guest speaker at a special Monday online session of the Southern Alberta Council on Public Affairs, discussing the post-secondary cuts the U of L has been forced to endure.
The reductions to U of L’s budget is a result of the reductions to provincial operating grants from 2019-20 to 2022-23 are significant (20 per cent).
Mahon will further explain the cuts, staff layoffs and budgetary requirements post-secondary institutions, including U of L, will have to deal with.
Mahon was installed as the President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lethbridge in 2010 and after serving two consecutive terms has been reappointed for a third term beginning July 1.
