The Family Centre Society of Southern Alberta is opening a new “Tech Hub” to provide families and individuals with free access to online services.
With Tech Hub families and individuals are now able to access computers to do homework, apply for financial support, jobs, learn online, connect with family, and do whatever families need to do online.
The temporary technology hub is located on the second floor of the Melcor Centre at 200 4 Ave. S., and is open from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. (closed over the lunch hour 12 p.m.-1 p.m.) Monday to Friday. Those wanting to book some time on the computers can call 403-320-4232.
“We are excited to provide families and individuals with free internet and computer access,” says Kamil Cipion, Tech Hub facilitator. “I think it is particularly important to support families that find it difficult to access technology during these hard times. Otherwise, they may fall through the cracks.”
