BORON
MR. TADEUSZ “TED” BORON,
of Lethbridge, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at the age of 90 years.
He is the loving father of Gerald Boron, Tom Boroñ of West Bank, B.C., Teresa Wallewein of Costa Rica, and Jim Boron. He is survived by his grandchildren Patty Richter, Carrie Bosse, Jordan Kallen, Leah Heidinger, Sarah Boron, Anna Heninger, Tami Boron, Briana Boron and Parker Boron as well as great grandchildren Ella, Olivia, Taylor, Tavis, Jasmyn, Braylon, Desirae and McKenna. Ted is also survived by his wife Louise Boron, sister-in-law Wanda Mozdzen, as well as numerous family members in Poland.
He was predeceased by his siblings Wojciech, Jan, Józef, Aleksander, Adela and Helena Boron, parents Weronika Korzeniowska & Franciszek Boroñ.
In Ted’s earlier years, he served in the Polish army, then immigrated to Canada in 1945 following the Second World War. He retired from the City of Lethbridge after a long standing career. He will be fondly remembered for his love of fishing and taking the grandchildren on numerous trips. Ted’s loving characteristics impacted his family and especially his grandchildren in ways too numerous to mention.
A Prayer Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge on Sunday, July 21, 2013 at 7:00 P.M.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. BASIL’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 604 – 13 Street North, Lethbridge, on Monday, July 22, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Roque Pereira, Celebrant.
Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, #402, 740 – 4 Avenue South, Lethbridge.

CHRISTINA CHODYNICKI
passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at St. Michael’s Health Centre at the age of 84 years.
She is predeceased by her loving husband Kazimierz “Cap”.
Christina is survived by three daughters: Adele (Bill) Douglas, Rita (John) Zubach and Sandi (Jack) Jensen; eight grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, July 22, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at CHRISTENSEN SALMON GENERATIONS FUNERAL HOME, 703-13 Street North, Lethbridge.

COREY
It is with great sadness that the family of JOAN KATHERINE COREY announce her death at her home on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at the age of 85 years.
Our beautiful Mom, Grandma Joan, “GG” (great-Grandma), Sister and Aunt left this earth with family at her side, courageously fighting a brief battle with cancer.
Joan was born in Calgary on September 17, 1927 – entering the world with a twin brother – Don. They were the second set of twins born to Hugh and Rose McGillivray. Her older twin siblings being Marie and Hugh and younger sister Eunice.
Mom came to Coaldale as a young teacher and met our Dad – Buster Corey. They married and had almost 61 years together before his death in 2010. Her sorrow at this loss was lessened by her devotion to her family, church and community. A servant heart – always thinking of others before herself. Joan was a charter member of St. Ambrose C.W.L. for 64 years. She was awarded the prestigious Maple Leaf Service Award for exceptional service to the League.
She is survived by her children: Pat (Al) Theroux, Don (Dianne) Corey, Jim (Roberta) Corey, Rick Corey, Ken (Monique) Corey, Janet (Blair) Frache, Tom (Brenda Wiebe) Corey; fourteen grandchildren, two step-granddaughters and numerous great-grandchildren. Joan is also survived by her sister Eunice Coleman of Lethbridge, sister-in-law Dorothy Hack of Oliver, B.C. as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Joan was predeceased by her loving husband Buster, her brothers Hugh and Don McGillivray and her sister Marie Barroll.
She was intelligent, faithful, private and fiercely loyal to her family.
“For now there is faith, hope, and love. But of these three, the greatest is love.” – 1 Corinthians.
A Prayer Service will be held at ST. AMBROSE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1513 – 23rd Ave., Coaldale, Alberta on Monday, July 22, 2013 at 7:00 P.M., with Reverend Mr. Ray Wagner officiating.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. AMBROSE CATHOLIC CHURCH on Tuesday morning at 11:00 A.M., with Father Thomas Vadassery, Celebrant.
Interment will follow in the Coaldale Community Cemetery.
In memory of Joan, contributions can be made to St. Michael’s Foundation, Palliative Care Unit, 1400 – 9th Avenue South, Lethbridge, Alberta T1J 4V5., or to the Coaldale Food Bank.

PATRICIA (PATTY) FRANTZ, born in Texas in 1939, came to Canada in 1961 with the love of her life to further the gospel through Bible translation with Wycliffe Bible Translators. She raised three children and assisted her husband in every way. She played piano and organ for most of her life and had many piano students in Arrowwood, AB. They moved to Lethbridge in 1977 and she taught at Hamilton JH & Churchill HS. She loved being a grandmother and cherished her friends deeply. She cheered her husband on through countless triathlons and they enjoyed traveling together. Her last months were especially precious. Her undying faith in Christ shone and Jesus was truly glorified by her gentle trust in spite of the pain of cancer. She sweetly passed into His presence on July 13, 2013, her adoring husband praying with her at her side.
She is survived by her husband of 54 yrs., Don, 3 children Lisa (Dale) Jost, Tim (Rachel) Frantz, and Jeff, as well as 18 grandchildren and 8 great- grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the Evangelical Free Church in Lethbridge on Monday, July 22nd at 11:00 am, Pastor Dave Acree officiating.

PLAIN EAGLE
“MINOOKII”
MINOOKII (MELVIN JAMES) PLAIN EAGLE passed away in Lethbridge on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at the age of 62 years.
Melvin was born on March 16, 1951 in Pincher Creek, AB. Melvin attended St. Cyprian Residential School from 1957 to 1963. He later attended the Peigan Day School until 1967.
Melvin worked with CP Rail, Johnson Sawmill, Peigan Range Riders and various Peigan Nation Agencies.
He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed participating, and for many years he was involved in the rodeo circuit riding Bareback. He was a buffalo rider in the Calgary Stampede. Melvin also played fastball for the Peigan Mohawks and was a part of the Brocket Cadets.
He especially enjoyed hanging out with his friends and sharing stories. Most of all, he enjoyed the time and memories he shared with his family.
Melvin is survived by his children and grandchildren; Marvin (Crystil), Cynthia (Tim), Wanda (Brett), Brian (Sherida), 13 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, his dog (Gus) and best friends Cecil Wolf Tail, Mills Big Bull and Jim Potts.
His mother; Margaret, Auntie; Catherine George, Brothers; Les (Florence), Stanford (Shannon), Richard (Noreen), Douglas (Sheena), Cameron (Brenda), Calvin (Tammy), Ru, Special Nephews: Terrance and Wade. Sisters; Audrey, Beverly (George), Laura (Doug), numerous nieces and nephews
He was predeceased by his wife; Bridget No Chief, father; Jim, Brothers: Gary and Harvey, Sister; Judy, Son; Randy, Special brother-in-law; Nelbert and Uncle; Tom George.
With Heavy Hearts, we say goodbye to Melvin, but we know he will be in the company of the love of his life, his wife, Bridget.
The family will gather for Mass Service at St. Cyprian Anglican Church on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 1:00 pm with Arch Deacon Sidney Black officiating. The Wake Service will immediately follow and will be held at Margaret Plain Eagle residence on the Piikani Nation, July 20 and all day on July 21. The Funeral Service is set for Monday, July 22, 2013 at 1:00 pm at PIIKANI COMMUNITY HALL with interment to follow at Brocket Cemetery, Piikani Nation.
The Plain Eagle family would like to invite you to a meal and a tribute at the Piikani Community Hall after the interment.
