Teams across the Canadian Hockey League will do a little drafting from overseas during the CHL Import Draft today.
The picks start at 9 a.m. with the Lethbridge Hurricanes picking 48th and again at 108th.
The Canes used the 2019 Import Draft to select Oliver Okuliar, who went on to score 33 goals and 68 points in 55 games.
That put the product of Trencin, Slovakia second to Evgeniy Oksentyuk of the Flint Firebirds, who had 33 goals and 78 points to lead last year’s Import Draft selections.
The North Bay Battalion have the first overall pick. The Swift Current Broncos are the first WHL team to pick at third.
