Neufeld captures city amateur title

He had to play a little extra golf to do it, but Jeff Neufeld is this year’s Lethbridge City Amateur golf champion.
Tied with Justin Nagy after the second round Sunday afternoon at the Henderson Lake Golf Club with scores of 135, Neufeld emerge victorious in the playoff.
Nagy led the field after Saturday’s round with a 65, while Neufeld and Darin Bertschi sat three strokes back at 68.
Neufeld sliced one shot off his total in Sunday’s round with a 67, while Nagy shot 70 to set the table for the playoff.
Bertschi shot 74 Sunday to finish third.
Mark Leitch shot scores of 71 and 72 to place fourth with a total of 143, while Brian Hancock and Kurt Hebers tied for fifth at 148.
