WELLNESS THROUGH LIVING SOCIETY – SECRETARY

Wellness Through Living Society provides effective, client-centred, life-skill programs and services to respond to vulnerable individuals in the community; empowering them to make good life decisions and become contributing citizens. They require a secretary who would attend board meetings, take minutes, send out correspondence, etc. All duties can be done from a computer at home with a good filing system in order. ROTARY CLUB OF LETHBRIDGE (DOWNTOWN) – RIBFEST 2020 DRIVE THRU VOLUNTEERS

Join the Rotary Club of Lethbridge for RIBFEST-DRIVE THRU style Sept. 18, 19 and 20 at the Enmax Centre. Four award-winning BBQ teams will be there serving ribs, pulled pork, chicken, sausage, and everything else that Ribfest lovers look forward to every year. Bonus! There will be other food trucks as well. Buy your food right from your vehicle. Proceeds from the event will go towards supporting local charities. They are looking for volunteers to assist in a variety of roles, especially in traffic control. This event will be safe and follow all safety and health guidelines. VOLUNTEER LETHBRIDGE – RECEPTION/ADMINISTRATION VOLUNTEERS

If you’re looking to brush up on your unused administration skills or gain customer service skills, this role is perfect for you! If you want experience working in a professional environment or getting back into a routine, Volunteer Lethbridge can help with that. They love to train new people and help you develop the skills and experiences you’re looking for in a professional office building. This role assists Volunteer Lethbridge in greeting, welcoming, and directing Penny Building visitors appropriately, notifying staff of visitor arrival, maintaining the telephone system and assist with administrative tasks as they come available. FAMILY CENTRE SOCIETY – HIGHWAY CLEANUP VOLUNTEER

Family Centre Society, based in Lethbridge, is a non-profit organization providing a comprehensive range of services to children, youth, and families in Southwestern Alberta. Family Centre is looking for 10-12 volunteers who could help on Sept. 19 with their Highway cleanup. 4-8-hour shifts are available. LETHBRIDGE PUBLIC LIBRARY – READ ON ADULT LEARNING AND ESL PROGRAM VOLUNTEERS

The Lethbridge Public Library’s (LPL) Read On Program relies on adult volunteers to tutor adult students one-on-one or in small groups. The LPL requires volunteers who can work with one or more adult students to help them meet their literacy goals. This usually involves foundational skills tutoring in reading, writing, listening, speaking, math and/or computers. A police check is required. Volunteers must be 20 years of age or older. CANADIAN RED CROSS SOCIETY – PERSONAL DISASTER ASSISTANCE (PDA) RESPONDER

The Canadian Red Cross Society, a non-profit, humanitarian organization dedicated to helping Canadians, as well as the most vulnerable throughout the world. They are accepting applications for Personal Disaster Assistance (PDA) Responder volunteer positions in the Disaster Management (DM) department. Reporting to the PDA Supervisor, the PDA Responder will be responsible to fill various on-call shifts on a 24/7 schedule that includes weekends, holidays, and evenings. When called on to respond, the PDA Responder will be required to provide relief directly to clients in need of assistance. The (PDA) team is activated to respond and provide assistance for up to the first 72 hours following a disaster and the PDA Responder will provide, as appropriate to agreements with the local authorities, Emergency Social Services (ESS) for relief, referral services and direct assistance for recovery, as well as work with the PDA Supervisor to plan and organize ongoing preparedness activities. NORD BRIDGE SENIORS CENTRE – WINNERS BINGO VOLUNTEER REP

The Mission of Nord-Bridge is to provide educational, social, and support service programs for Senior Citizens, and to foster independence, self worth, and a sense of community pride amongst the senior citizen population of Lethbridge and surrounding communities. They are looking for volunteers who will work with an adviser to count and check money, bingo balls, and cards in the office. Volunteers will also need to make sure all volunteers are present.
