MR. BRUCE JOHN BERTE, beloved husband of Mrs. Reta Berte, of Lethbridge, AB. passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Wednesday, July 31st, 2013 at the age of 73 years.

FOOKS
NORMAN FOOKS passed away in Lethbridge on Thursday, July 26, 2013 after a short illness with his wife Georgia, his daughters Shannon and Marcia, and his son-in-law Rob Mossey at his side.
Norm was born in Hanna, AB on August 24, 1923. He started golfing with his father at a young age and became Southern Alberta champion when he was 16. Norm joined the air force in the Second World War and served overseas for nearly three years. He married Georgia Green in 1948 and they spent nearly 65 years together. He graduated from the University of Manitoba as an Architect. He opened his office in Lethbridge in 1952. During his professional life he designed 700 buildings among which were 260 schools.
He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and held many positions. The happiest days of his life were serving in the Cardston Alberta Temple.
Norm was a charter member of the East Lethbridge Rotary Club and was honoured to be a Paul Harris Fellow.
Norm was a family man. He loved his wife, his four children, his 11 grandchildren and his 33 great grandchildren as well as his sisters. He is survived by his wife Georgia, his three daughters; Shannon (Rob) Mossey of Vauxhall, Marcia (Drew) Sommerfeldt of Lethbridge, Lori (Dan) Williams of Vancouver, Washington, and his son Scott (Colleen) Fooks of Calgary, his sister Dorothy (Bob-deceased) Hales, of Calgary and Shirley (Steve- deceased) Daku of Lethbridge as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by his father and mother; Harry and Olive Fooks and two sisters; Marguerite (Ray-deceased) Bell of Vancouver and Evelyn (Walter -deceased) Rutherford of Victoria.
Friends may meet the family on Friday, August 2, 2013 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at CHRISTENSEN SALMON GENERATIONS FUNERAL HOME, 703 – 13th Street North, Lethbridge or from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, LETHBRIDGE STAKE CENTRE, 2410-28 Street South, Lethbridge.
Memorial donations may be made to Humanitarian Services, the Perpetual Education Fund or to the Charity of your choice.

A Family Service will be held at the Legacy Funeral Home, Cardston on Friday, August 2nd at 5:00 p.m. followed by a Wake Service at the Moses Lake Gym, Blood Reserve from 7:00 p.m. to Midnight. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Blood Reserve on Saturday, August 3rd at 2:00 p.m. Interment in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Blood Reserve.

HELEN MATTHEWS
1921 ~ 2013
It is with great sadness that the family of Helen Elizabeth Matthews announces her passing on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Chinook Regional Hospital at the age of 92 years. Helen slipped away peacefully with her family at her side.
Helen met the love of her life, Bob Matthews, and was married in Lethbridge on October 16, 1940, where the two of them raised their family and resided until their passings.
Helen was predeceased by her husband Robert (Bob) Matthews in 1968, her parents Arthur and Martha Rolfe, her one sister and four brothers and a great-granddaughter Alora Matthews.
Helen was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and in the last year enjoyed being a great-great-grandmother. She always went the extra mile to make the people around her happy, especially her family and will be sorely missed by those who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Shirley (Art) Sanford of Lethbridge and her son Robert “Bob” (Delia) Matthews of Bow Island.
Also left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren Glen Sanford of Edmonton, Keith (Elizabeth) Sanford of Calgary, Carolynne (Paul) Marr of Medicine Hat, Roberta (Harvey) Buchholz of Medicine Hat, and Robert Matthews of Fort McMurray; Helen’s great-grandchildren Chance (Jackie) Matthews of Medicine Hat, Vanessa Monaghan of Lethbridge, Austin Buchholz of Medicine Hat, Trystyn Buchholz of Medicine Hat, Robert Matthews of Fort McMurray, Bobi Buchholz of Medicine Hat, Natasha Matthews of Fort McMurray and Kelly Matthews of Fort McMurray; and her special great-great-granddaughter Torina Matthews of Medicine Hat.
Helen resided at the Park Meadows Village Good Samaritan Facility for the past 2 1Ž2 years. The family wishes to express their thanks to the staff for the care and support they have provided to all of us.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at the GOOD SAMARITAN SOCIETY PARK MEADOWS VILLAGE, 1511 15th Avenue North, Lethbridge.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

LARRY SALOMONS, beloved husband of Linda Salomons of Coleman, Alberta, passed away with his family at his side on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at the age of 69 years.
He was predeceased by his parents, John & Ikelina Salomons; niece & nephew Naomi and Alex, and his infant brother, Bert.
Larry was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to many. He is survived by his daughter, Lynette (Nick) of Lethbridge; son, Glenn (Jamie) of Calgary; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his brothers, Otto (Barbara), John (Janice), Ralph (Sherry), Bert (Cheryl), Harry, Eric; sisters, Janet (Bev-deceased) James, Alice (Bob) Klok, Tina (Gerrit-deceased) Meijeringh, Carol (Herman) de Woulde, Janny (John) Brouwer, Irene (John) Derksen, Diane (Brent) Rawlinson and Susan (Brent) Skidmore.
His love of life and people touched the lives of all those who knew him. His quiet courage, strength of spirit, creativity and sense of humour will be carried forward by those who knew and loved him. Larry had a never-ending ability to fix things. No matter what he was doing, if something needed repair, Larry was the man for the job.
A Funeral Service will be held at the FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, 1614 – 5th Avenue South, Lethbridge on Friday, August 2nd, 2013 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Mark Archibald officiating.
A private interment will be held at a later date.

WILLIAM CHARLTON LATTA
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William (Bill) Charlton Latta, Jr. on July 29, 2013 at the age of 83 years, with his loving family at his side.
Bill was born on September 24, 1929 in East Liverpool, Ohio. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Nancy, and his four children: Bill (Margaret) Latta, Linda (Barry) Strangward, Leslie Latta, and Tom (Jody) Latta; and grandchildren Anna, Will, Lauren, Evan, Emily, Madison and Kennedy. Bill cherished every opportunity to spend time with his children, grandchildren and extended family. He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers. Bill graduated as a Fulbright Scholar with a PhD in English from the University of Nebraska in 1965. He moved his family to Regina that year to teach at the University of Saskatchewan (Regina Campus.) Two years later, he took a faculty position at the newly opened University of Lethbridge, from which he retired in 1990.
Bill was a published poet and a founding member of the Writers’ Guild of Alberta. Following his retirement from the University of Lethbridge, Bill and Nancy lived in Gifu, Japan for two years while Bill, always the consummate teacher, taught English at the Shotoku Gakuen Women’s Junior College. Throughout his life, Bill enjoyed traveling throughout Canada, especially in the Rocky Mountains and to the west coast. Bill will always be remembered for his gentle, kind and generous nature. Please join the family at a memorial reception on Saturday August 3, 2013 from 10:30-1:30pm at Country Kitchen Catering, 1715 Mayor Magrath Drive South (lower level of The Keg). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Supporting Our Students Bursary at the University of Lethbridge.
