Registrations being accepted for Christmas Hope

By Lethbridge Herald on December 3, 2020.

All programs and agencies involved in the Christmas Hope campaign are still accepting registrations for families in need of assistance.
Registration information is available on the Christmas Hope website at http://www.ChristmasHope.ca.
Distribution of Christmas hampers from the Lethbridge and Interfaith food banks will start early next week, but it is not too late to register, Christmas Hope noted in a news release. Late registrations will not be turned away from either food bank, and those who require assistance are encouraged to connect with their agency of choice.
Clients must be able to provide the following: photo ID and Alberta Health Care cards; names and birthdates/ages of adults and children in the household; proof of address; and proof of income (including source and amount).
Meanwhile, Shop of Wonders is open and serving local families. Appointments for the program are still available from now until the end of December. Register for the program online at http://www.myvictory.ca/mycitycare or carol@myvictory.ca.
As well, the Angel Tree Campaign in still accepting registrations with information is available online at http://www.lfsfamily.ca.
The Salvation Army is also still accepting registrations for toy bundles and clients can be registered through the food banks, or by contacting The Salvation Army directly.
MyCityCare’s Shop of Wonders and The Salvation Army’s Toys for Tots is hoping for an increase in donations of gifts for children, especially for infants, toddlers and teens. Angel Tree Campaign can also use gifts for infants.
All partnering agencies are open and serving the community within the current health directives and though gatherings are prohibited, the ongoing support of the community is relied on, especially during this holiday season.
Collection sites are available throughout the community, and Christmas Hope organizers have worked hard to provide safe options to give and participant in each campaign. These include, mail, online giving and drop-off locations for both food and toy collections. With fundraisers and events being limited or cancelled, donations of food and toys have been slow, the release added.
