Southern Alberta Ethnic Association will host its 22nd annual Community Christmas Dinner for Charity Dec. 19, and they’re seeking the community’s help in putting it on.
Last year more than 400 people attended the dinner. This year, the COVID-19 pandemic will turn the event into a take-out affair from 3-6 p.m., operating out of the Multicultural Centre, 421 6 Ave. S.
To help with providing take-out meals to those in need, the SAEA is calling upon the community and community-minded businesses for a donation of either goods, grocery gift cards or funds to purchase items for the dinner. Goods for the event include foods such as ham, turkey, potatoes, frozen vegetables and dessert squares.
Food donations can be dropped off at the Multicultural Centre or pickup can be arranged. Cash or gift cards can be dropped off at the centre, mailed to 421 6 Ave. S., Lethbridge, AB, T1J 0Y7 or etransfered to jackie.french@saea.ca.
Those who would like to donate are asked to let the SAEA know no later than Monday, Dec. 7, and preferably sooner, by calling 403-320-1577 or emailing info@saea.ca. Contributions will be acknowledged on the SAEA’s social media platforms and monetary donations of $50 or more will receive a charitable tax receipt.
