Special SACPA to discuss Brexit

The Southern Alberta Council on Public Affairs will be holding a special online session about Brexit on Tuesday at 10 a.m.
The session will tackle the U.K. government’s “global Britain” aspiration, and future U.K.-EU relations, both political and commercial. Other topics will include what can Britain expect from a Joe Biden presidency and is there scope for a U.K.-USA or U.K.-USMCA trade agreement?
Tuesday’s speaker will be Simon Sweeney, a senior lecturer in International Political Economy and Business at the University of York Management School in the U.K. He is the author of “Europe the State and Globalization (Routledge, 2016).” His PhD was on EU Security and Defense Policy (University of Leeds, 2015). Between 2006 and 2013 he served as a U.K. Bologna Expert, sponsored by the European Commission. His research interests are European integration and EU security and defence policy (https://ukandeu.ac.uk/author/ssweeney/).
