Traffic stop results in drug-related and other charges

Lethbridge Police have charged a driver with drug-related and other offences following a traffic stop on March 16.
About 3:20 a.m. police stopped a vehicle westbound on Whoop-Up Drive on a traffic matter. The driver was subsequently arrested for failure to comply with release conditions.
A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of 26 grams of fentanyl and 22.4 grams of methamphetamine, with a total value of about $11,700.  Also seized was $900 cash and drug paraphernalia.
Baltazar Martinez, 41, has been charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, one count of possession of stolen property, and one count of failure to comply with release conditions.
Martinez was remanded in custody to appear in court on March 18.

This happened on the 16th.. Why post this on the 20th? What happened at court on the 18th?
