“Misunderstanding” in report of attempted child abduction

Lethbridge Police Service has released an update to an earlier release regarding a report of an attempted child abduction, saying they have determined the incident was a misunderstanding and that there was no criminal intent involved.
A 12-year-old girl had reported that five individuals in a van had attempted to abduct her near Lakeview School on Sunday, April 4, 2021.
Subsequent investigation into the incident Monday, April 5, 2021 determined that the van and occupants were in the area on a group outing and were running to the nearby park to play ball. Staff for the outing called police as soon as they heard about the incident.
Lethbridge Police would like to thank the public and the media for their assistance.

Not only a “stand out” vehicle, but mid afternoon on a Sunday at the ballpark, 5 people chasing a child, and no one else witnessed it?
It just doesn’t add up.
They wouldn’t have attempted it if there was a witness or someone else around.. I’m surprised none of the nearby houses had a security camera! Im even MORE surprised that five ppl were involved (as opposed to one random creep)!
I agree biff.. Folks shouldn’t be allowed to register/renew their vehicle if they tint their front windows.

Ya, because on a Sunday afternoon at the ball park which is also right beside a major park, the skate park, etc, there was no one that saw a conspicuous vehicle along with 5 adults chasing a 12 year old girl. Eyeroll.
Just after writing that last post, I checked for an update on the story to confirm my statement that the girl’s story doesn’t add up.
