Lethbridge Hurricanes forward and local product Zack Stringer has landed on the National Hockey League’s Central Scouting Service list.
Stringer, 18, was listed 190th among North American skaters as Central Scouting released its list Thursday.
The six-foot-one, 165-pound forward was drafted by the Canes in the first round and eighth overall in the 2018 Western Hockey League bantam draft.
In the shortened, 24-game 2021 WHL season, Stringer tallied five goals and 14 points in 23 games in his second year with the Hurricanes.
In total, Stringer has 17 goals and 52 points in 79 career WHL games and also has three points in six WHL playoff games.
In 2019-20 Stringer won the Carl Trentini Memorial Award as the Hurricanes Rookie of the Year.
This season, he donated five dollars for every goal he scored to the Canadian Cancer Society, earning Stringer the Herman Elfring Community Relations Award.
The Hurricanes have had a player drafted in the NHL draft in four straight years and six of the last seven drafts, including Alex Cotton, who was selected by the Detroit Red Wings in 2020.
A total of 48 WHL skaters and nine goaltenders were listed on the NHL Central Scouting final ranking.
The 2021 NHL Entry Draft is scheduled for July 23-24.
