A group of southern Alberta golfers were in the field at the 2021 Maple Leaf Junior Tour Ford Series-PGA of Alberta Junior Championship Monday to Wednesday in Calgary as well as the MJT Mini Tour at Blue Devil Golf Club earlier this week.
In the in MJT Ford Series-PGA of Alberta Junior Championship, Lethbridge’s Braeden Van Dusen shot 76, 73, 73 for a three-day total of 222 to take fifth place in the Junior Boys division, while fellow Lethbridge golfer Spence Matson shot 228 (74, 75, 79) to place 13th.
In the Bantam Boys division Taber’s Lyndon Kuryvial shot a three-day total 229 to take ninth place.
Two more southern Alberta golfers competed at the MJT Mini Tour.
One of those golfers topped his age group as 10-year-old Mason Kuryvial from Taber shot 63 to win the Boys 9-10 Division.
In the Boys 11-12 division, Lethbridge’s Trent Wesley, 11, carded a 69 to finish tied for 10th.
