Alanna Makarchuk enjoyed a top-three finish on the Maple Leaf Junior Tour this week.
The 18-year-old golfer from Taber shot a two-day total 167 to take third place in the 15-19 Girls division at the MJT Western Championship in Invermere B.C. Tuesday and Wednesday.
Makarchuk shot 88 Tuesday, but took nine shots off her total in the final round Wednesday to earn third place.
A few other southern Alberta golfers also took part in the B.C. event.
In the Junior Boys event, 17-year-old Spence Matson carded scores of 71 and 79 for a 150 and seventh place, eight shots back of the overall winner.
In the Juvenile Boys division Seth Murphy, 15, shot rounds of 76 and 78 for a two-round total of 154 and into a three-way tie for 12th.
Taber’s Alex Makarchuk placed 25th in the Juvenile Boys division with a two-day 169 (83, 86).
A total of 100 golfers from B.C. and Alberta took part in the event.
