Woman killed in pedestrian collision

A woman has died as the result of a pedestrian motor vehicle collision on Monday morning.

Lethbridge police responded to the collision shortly after 10 a.m. near 12 Ave. South along Mayor Magrath Drive. Police say a southbound truck struck a female pedestrian. The pedestrian was transported to the Chinook Regional Hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.

As a result of the investigation into the collision Shannon Good Striker of Lethbridge, has been charged with impaired driving causing death,  impaired driving causing death with blood alcohol over .08 MG% and dangerous driving causing death.

Good Striker’s next court appearance is August 24, 2021.

Police say no further information is being released at this time.

If you going to go as far as saying the persons name and everything like that give more details on if she was in the crosswalk? jaywalking? also Drunk? that’s extremely poor ass reporting in my book …

good point. also questionable is that sometimes names are released, sometimes not – while i prefer that names are not released until trial/resolution, there needs to be consistency rather than being left to the whims of whomever is in charge of name releasing.
