Rams move up in the Football Alberta rankings, Cougars crack the top-10

With their win over Calgary St. Francis Friday, the LCI Rams football team has jumped up two spots in the Football Alberta Tier I rankings.

Meanwhile in the Tier II rankings, the Catholic Central High School Cougars have earned their first top-10 ranking after defeating Okotoks Foothills Friday night.

The Rams downed St. Francis 21-6 to improve to 2-1 and move up to fourth place in the rankings, released Sunday.

LCI and Catholic Central clash in a Southern Alberta High School Football League tilt Friday night at 7:30 p.m. at the University of Lethbridge Stadium.

The Cougars win puts them at 2-0 and grabs them the sixth seed in the Tier II rankings for Week 2.

The Raymond Comets have dropped to 0-2 after their 28-20 loss to Notre Dame, but move up from eighth to seventh in the Tier I rankings.

In Tier II, the Cardston Cougars are now 1-1 after an 18-0 loss to Medicine Hat, but move up to the fourth seed after starting the season in fifth place last week.

The Cougar and Comets play Saturday night at 7 p.m. in Cardston in non-league action.

The Taber W. R. Myers Rebels remain in second place in the Tier IV rankings after their season-opening 54-6 win over the Claresholm Willow Creek Cobras Friday in Calgary.

The Rebels host the Chinook Coyotes in SAHSFL Division B play Friday night at 7 p.m.

The Cobras are 0-2 on the season and sit in ninth in the Tier IV division.

In other SAHSFL play Friday night, the Winston Churchill Bulldogs host the Pincher Creek Mustangs in Division B play at 5 p.m. at the U of L Stadium.
