Interfaith Food Bank Society recognized for having an impact

Interfaith Food Bank Society of Lethbridge has been included in Charity Intelligence (Ci)’s Top 10 Impact: Canadian Food Banks of 2021.
The Top Impact Charities of 2021 was formally launched Tuesday.  Top Impact Charities will appear in MoneySense. 
Inclusion in a Top Impact Charities list is based on the amount of demonstrated impact that charities had on clients and society in the past year. This is measured using the Ci demonstrated Social Return on Investment (dSROI) framework, which can be found on the Charity Intelligence Canada website.
This year, they have put together SEVEN different lists of Top Impact Charities, including an overall Top 10 plus additional lists by sub-categories.
Each list includes the FIVE or 10 charities that have been analyzed that have demonstrated the highest value created per dollar spent in the given category.
“Interfaith Food Bank has always been about empowering – not enabling – those who request our assistance.  By offering a hand-up, not just a hand-out, our programs and services help those we serve to move past the food bank line-up.  To be recognized by Charity Intelligence as a Top Impact Charity is a true honour, and speaks to the efforts that go into ensuring that not only are we accountable, transparent and good stewards of the donations that we receive, but that we are actually having an impact on the community we serve!  Sometimes the reporting and administration associated with our work is seen as cumbersome and unnecessary, however, when it’s used to track the impact on the community, and to evaluate and to improve services, it’s invaluable,” said Danielle McIntyre, executive director, Interfaith Food Bank Society of Lethbridge in a statement.
