After grabbing two key points Wednesday, the Lethbridge Hurricanes will go for two more tonight.
The Hurricanes host Connor Bedard and the Regina Pats in Western Hockey League play at 7 p.m. at the Enmax Centre.
The Canes will look to make it two in a row after defeating the Swift Current Broncos 5-2 Wednesday night at the Enmax Centre, a win that not only improved Lethbridge to 16-18-2-1, but moves them into tie with the Broncos for eighth place in the Eastern Conference.
The Pats come into tonight’s game at 16-20-0-1 and two points back of the Hurricanes.
Both the Hurricanes and Broncos are six points back of the seventh place, 17-15-5-2 Calgary Hitmen.
The Hitmen are idle tonight, while the Broncos are at home against the Moose Jaw Warriors.
Hurricanes forward Justin Hall had a goal and two assists in Wednesday’s win over the Broncos and continues to lead the team with 21 goals and 42 points in 35 games.
The Pats are led by Bedard, who scored two goals Wednesday against the Saskatoon Blades and now has 22 goals and 40 points in 31 games.
Bedard was the overtime hero the last time the Pats were in Lethbridge, scoring in the final second of a 3-2 Nov. 24.
After tonight’s game, the Hurricanes hit the road for a four-game road trip through Saskatchewan.
The Canes are in Swift Current Saturday, Moose Jaw Wednesday, Saskatoon Feb. 11 and Prince Albert Feb. 12.
The Hurricanes are back home Feb. 15 when the Warriors come to town.
